Convenient central location, really comfortable room with a little fridge , easy to come and go as side entrance to the pub. Great breakfast, friendly helpful staff. The pub is nice if you want to go for a drink too.

Needed a higher spec fan as it was shot day and the room was stiffy

The hotel was perfect with the exception of an inadequate fan in the room , which was very stuffy as it was a hot day .

Cons: - the shower was clogged - marks on pillow sheets (seemed not used so we suspected they're just stained) - the included shower gel and conditioner were okay but the shampoo felt unpleasant - the shower head could use a deep clean - the food is hit or miss. The traditional pub grub was fantastic. - the door isn't soundproof so it can be difficult to sleep when other guests are being noisy in the hall.

Pros: - location (we were able to explore the city and try different things everyday with ease) - short walk to the bus stop that takes you to Chester Zoo directly - right next to the tourist information centre - convenient food and drink option downstairs. Super friendly. - spacious room with lots of natural light - storage - vanity - comfy bed - coffee table - kettle, tea and coffee provided - didn't use the fridge, safe and iron set but they all looked helpful - you don't hear the pub

Out of control of the hotel, the noise from revellers outside meant being woken up. It is a city centre location so noise to be expected, and they do provide ear plugs in the room.

Welcoming and wonderfully professional staff, immaculate room with such a comfortable bed. Really good breakfast too! Loved my stay.

Nothing, it was great

We came here on a Tuesday night and the room was spacious, comfortable and incredibly clean. All the staff were lovely and the breakfast tasty too. The location is amazing and right in the middle of the city close to bars and restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying here if you fancy a cheaper than most getaway to Chester

The bed was a bit soft, I prefer a firmer bed.

Great location near the Cathedral, large room with good facilities. Breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

We had a room on the top floor, it was mostly quiet (except for the bar emptying the glass out around midnight which woke us), that said earplugs are provided! It was quite warm, although we realised there was a fan provided when we got up! Overall though, nothing to put us off.

Excellent facilities, iron, hairdryer, kettle - coffee & tea, A FRIDGE(!) and TV. All you would need for a stay. The bed was comfortable. The staff were all great and we stayed for breakfast which was excellent value for money. The best stay we have had in the 5 hotels we've tried in Chester, we will definitely go back.

Lovely decorated room which was surprisingly very large with a comfy bed. Our room 7 had a great bathroom and a fridge in the room which was very handy. The breakfast was one of the best we have had.

Dirty bathroom and bins had not been emptied from previous guests.

I liked the decor and size of the room, and the bed was so comfortable, one of the best sleeps I have had. The addition of the ear plugs in the room was a nice touch considering you are sleeping above a busy pub, which caused no noise bother that night anyway.

Honestly can't think of anything

We regularly have to travel to the south of England by car from Northern Ireland to visit my parents and always look forward to staying at the Coach House. Very central, great staff, nice rooms and a good choice of beer, so what's not to like?! Also, the room key lets you access your room 24/7 which is handy if you're late back. Breakfast and food all great and reasonably priced.

I bedside light not working. Manager was getting it repaired as unable to whilst we were there as not just a bulb

The child bed was unsuitable for sleeping in as it sank to the floor. Perhaps a little modernisation of the room and bathroom to reflect the price.

Great location (smack bang in the middle of Chester) and the staff are lovely. We had a large room which was nice.
