Radiator (big towel one) on full, impossible to turn off. Staff had left windows open , as did we, total waste of energy.

Well placed old coaching inn. Updated rooms ours had a nespresso coffee maker which was great. Car park at rear.

    The room was small.

I think the staff and management made a real effort to give us an enjoyable stay and in that they were successful. Our dog enjoyed her box of treats. Breakfast was very good. We slept well.

Could have done with more coffee & milk supplies as I actually stayed 2 nights but they weren’t topped up. However I could probably have just got more from the bar staff.

Breakfast was great & all the staff were lovely, friendly & helpful. The single room was small but had all I needed. The shower cubicle was great & very good size. It was busy in the bar with great atmosphere - very sociable.

Georgian pub with lots of character.

The meals were typical pub meals and a strong smell of cooking fat in the bar. My room (a single) had an uncomfortable bed and there was a extraction ventilator duct immediately outside the window which did not get switched off until about 11 pm and which kept me awake. The breakfast was generous and freshly prepared.

Good location in the old town and easily found. Excellent car park with CCTV. Pub gets busy in the evenings.

The room was a little noisy during the night with sounds from either the water or central heating systems. However I manage to sleep reasonably well only having a problem with it one night.

Room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. The hotel is in an excellent position making it easy to walk from where I need to go with the bonus of a parking space to leave my car. Breakfast was delicious and filling.

It can be noisy if the guests above or to the side have decided to go out on the town and get back in fairly late, especially if they've lost their key which can happen, but they are usually dealt with pretty quickly.

Staff are always helpful and the breakfast is cooked to order from 7am and your are within a short walk to a number of different restaurants for the evening and fancy something different. Parking is included which is great but the car park isn't that big so is some times full.

The rooms were fine and good value for money, however the single room had a cigarette stub in the kettle and the bathroom was not very clean (urine splashed around the loo and on the floor). The kettle was replaced quite rapidly…..we didn’t complain about the bathroom. Our problem was with the one meal ordered. There was little of the menu available and the hunter’s chicken was ordered, but was almost inedible. Your guest managed to eat enough to take her medication, but couldn’t tackle the rest. We were disappointed to be unable to stay in the bar after 23.15. Appreciate staff need to go home, but as 3 separate households from different areas of the UK we’d hoped for catch up time after the theatre.

Not much! Floorboards very creaky but it's a very old building!

Clearly recently refurbished to a high standard. Well designed bathroom with excellent shower & nice products. Bed was very comfortable. All very good value. Ideal location for an evening in Old Town.
