I got there late (about 10.20pm). It was a little tricky finding a door to get in and i had to phone the place first to get them to let me in. PIt was probably my fault for assuming that, as it was a pub, it would have the doors open until 11:00 and it was all very last minute.

Plenty of character and comfortable room. Cooked breakfast was very nice indeed.

We booked a small double room well the room was not small it was a comfortable size and the bathroom was nearly as big as the bedroom, with a powerful shower Tea and coffee bags , very good quality ,bottled water supplied in the room, a big comfortable bed and a really nice breakfast finished off a very enjoyable stay

There was no hot water from the bathroom sink. There was a loud noise like a boiler or something making it hard to sleep. Hair dryer in the bathroom doesn’t work.

It’s a very historic building and access is a little tricky for those without full mobility.

Nice atmosphere in restaurant/bar. First class cooked breakfast. Staff went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible. Really comfy bed. Just very little to fault.

Warm welcome on arrival and shown to our room. Room was spacious and exceeded our expectations. Lovely bathroom, towels and toiletries. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and the finishing touch was the breakfast table allocated, was the number of our room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ideal location for our needs.

Indifferent 'pub grub' for the evening meal and breakfast was cold plates only due to kitchen renovations taking place but we did receive a discount for this.

Warm, comfortable welcome and good ambience. Room well-cleaned and equipped; friendly staff and good draught beer options at the bar. Ample parking.

The TV’s … we have stayed here many times but every room we stay in has very small TV’s. These need upgrading to make the hotel a fabulous place to stay.

I’m nit-picking but for me the bed was too hard and the tv too small (like a laptop screen!) The hanging rail was difficult to reach due to its height (and I’m not short!)

A couple of things that couldn’t have been changed which did prevent me from getting a good night’s sleep was a banging noise in presumably the water/central heating pipes intermittently and the fact that the person in the next room had the TV on until the early hours of the morning. My friend in a different room had no such distractions.

It was a nice building with plenty of character in a convenient location for our schedule. The rooms were clean and comfortable with good facilities. The breakfast was very good and the staff were helpful. They allowed us to check in a couple of hours earlier than stated as we were in the area and needed to continue with our afternoon arrangements in Hereford.

Enjoyable stay.

The setting was beautiful, loved all of the original features, very rustic and the Christmas trees added to it. Very cosy oldy worldy beautiful place.
