Evening meal service was open for pretty limited times, so just make sure to confirm! I had a toastie and it was yummy! The floors throughout were a bit creaky, but the whole place had a load of charm. The water pressure was great, but it was hot and I had clean towels everyday.

The staff were great and breakfast was very filling. The view of the church yard was really nice to wake up to each morning. Wifi was stable!!!! There is onsite parking, but beware if you have a large vehicle the entrance way is tight! There's a cafe next door that's nice and quaint, a fish shop across the street and a Chinese just down the road. The shower is hot and there was plenty of space in the bathroom and bedroom. The light from the big windows was so nice!

Had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and both were excellent home cooking. Whilst the hotel is a little 'tired', it is still a welcoming and good place to stay.

Parking for van on street, access to hotel car park limited. Having said that street parking fine no restrictions between 6pm to 8am. Busy one way street.

Staff good, rooms good and clean. Evening menu basic no frills. As contractor do not need much more.

My only very slight criticism is that the shower could do with a mat inside as it was very slippy.

The Griffin is authentically quaint and traditionally creaky, which I love. Luckily for us, they do an early breakfast on a Sunday which meant we were able to eat before having to rush back to London. The breakfast was excellent. The towels in the room were large and fluffy. I would certainly stay again when visiting family in the area.

The restaurant menus weren’t available online and were only on chalk boards. No-one else was dining so we went elsewhere.

Three beds was what we needed and got. They were comfortable and clean. The location was perfect for a trip to Norwich the next morning. Breakfast was enjoyable.

Nothing we didn't like but this is an old building and as such, there are the unavoidable creaky floors and uneven stairs. The access to the car park is very narrow but again, this is due to the age of the building and we managed it in a 4x4

Great location and beautiful old building full of character. Wonderful staff, great food, everything we needed

First impressions were not great to be honest, there was a fusty / damp smell when you walked in the entrance and it looked very dated, not much atmosphere in the bar not a good wine selection but my husband said the beer was good. Bathroom was really small and the bathroom window kept opening on its own. The stairs were a bit of a challenge with a heavy suitcase. A small moan was about letting them know what time you will be down for breakfast in the morning, it finished at 9 so we had to make sure we were down by 8.45am which is a little early when you on holiday.

Over looking a beautiful church yard and lovely gardens, inside we were met by a lady who gave us our room key and told us where they room was, up some very creaky stairs and down a wonky corridor we found it. The room had a four poster bed in and a very tiny bathroom with a very small shower cubicle in. The room was very clean with kettle, biscuits tea coffee etc available. we came downstairs in the evening to have a drink in the bar, there were a few locals but we were quite disappointed as there wasn't much atmosphere, i left my husband to have a few more drinks and went to bed. The breakfast was outstanding - had a little wait for the coffee to come out but again this was good filter coffee not cheap instant. Everything on the breakfast menu was exceptional, local sausages and bacon from the butchers over the road - just great! On hearing the history of the Griffin Hotel you can forgive the quirks as this actually made it a great place to stay - we hope to be back in the future.
