How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Exceptional staff Michelle and al really friendly nothing too much trouble clean spotless rooms would definitely recommend the Heidie b&q we’ll be going back outstanding breakfast too could not fault our stay in any way thanx sooo much deb and Ian hilditch

The rooms are a good size and very good price.very good choice for breakfast .good customer service and the owners very polite nothing wasn't too much trouble for them.they give us some good places to go.good area close to things.i will definitely be visiting this hotel again highly recommend it.couldnt fault anything with my stay .

The car park is a bit tight but I’m an anxious driver.
Really lovely, welcoming hosts. Breakfast is fantastic. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Central location but still quiet. Room was spacious and comfortable.

Nothing. All good.
Excellent location, Michelle and Al made me feel welcome, they gave me some really helpful information for local bars, restaurants, I was offered the use of the local facilities, all free of charge, the property very clean and tidy, the room very spacious, great value for money overall. I was also guided to the car park, this was very helpful and put my mind at ease when parking my new vehicle. I will return to this property on my next visit to Southport.

Great hosts, great breakfast, and good parking facilities. We had a small room (we did know before booking), but it had everything we needed. Well looked after, thank you Michelle and Al, we'll be back. 😁

Our double room was quite small and the shower was in a separate bathroom. We did not realise this when we booked. Not sure if it is but, if not, maybe this room should be rented at a lower rate than the bigger rooms.
Michelle and Al were lovely hosts. Communication was excellent prior to our visit as was the breakfast on each morning of our stay. Michelle was keen to check we had everything we needed and was very helpful with advice on places to visit and eat. Great to have off road parking.

Nothing really. Had a nice stay.
Michelle ans Al were vrry Attentive hosts. Very helpful and keen to please. Nothing was too much trouble. On site parking was a must and very much appreciated. Thanks to Michelle for doing the extra work when we had an accident with sunblock.

Unfortunately it was very very hot on the top floor. We did go when the weather was humid.

Absolutely no negatives
Lovely B&B. Michelle and Al were the perfect hosts and very friendly. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Delicious cooked breakfast plus various cereals and fresh fruit. Parking at the rear was very useful as Southport can be very hard to find somewhere to park.

everything, couldn't fault anything, a perfect stay, and the weather was beautiful 😊
We had a lovely stay, the hotel is perfectly situated near the shops and restaurants, the hosts gave us tips on great restaurants, pubs etc, the room was good, breakfast top notch, parking is at the back of the hotel and free, we will return,thanks Rus and Elaine
