Lovely old pub - fantastic welcome from publican who showed us to our room personally after a long flight. Room basic but clean and comfortable. Nice atmosphere downstairs in pub and perfect location to visit WB Harry Potter studios the next day

Right next to the main line from London, even with the double glazing(ish) train sounds still notable. Breakfast only starts at 9am, this is not useful for business travellers. Very flat pillows (needed all 3)

Nice period building Restaurant and staff very friendly. Local area very pleasant, good canal walk. Good matresses

The toilet seat was broken in the bedroom en suite, plus the cold tap was very stiff. When fresh towels were brought to the room they were damp, but left folded on the bed. A few other things in the bedroom were broken or tatty.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food in the pub was a bit pricey but the portions were huge! The beds were comfortable and the room was warm.

I was only there for 1 short night so unfair to comment much. I felt sorry for the couple because they obviously needed to spend a lot of money .

There was very loud music until gone 11pm which sounded like there was a band practicing in the next room. Noise was expected being above a pub however on a week night it was a bit too much. It was sorted very quickly after a call down to the pub

The welcome was very friendly, particularly for my 10 year old Harry Potter fan! The room was cosy for the two of us and as advertised. The meals were lovely and good value for money… fantastic chip breakkie

Wasn't the cleanest. The room we stayed in had an intermittent shower. At night we had to get somebody to assist us in getting it warm. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest and shower needed to be updated. In the morning we spent 30 mins trying to get it to warm up. Nobody around to ask and with persistence it finally went warm. Not ideal if you were in a rush to get out in the morning and very frustrating!

Staff were friendly it's a great location for going to Harry Potter studios

The bathroom needs a bit of work, the shower wasn't straightforward and there was some snagging needed as bits and bobs were broken

Maybe a cup of tea, in with the price of the breakfast. The steep windy stairs with a broken ankle wasn't suitable, but that wasn't the fault of the lodge!

Quaint little lodge . The food portions were huge! Lovely cooked food. Nice and clean white bedding.

Our room had a door in it which was linked too the next bedrooms toilet, you could hear everything. Also bath didnt have a plug so couldn’t use it after a long day of side seeing.

Breakfast was amazing! The hotel itself was lovely in a good location and parking available. Decent price for our stay. Huge private bathroom.
