On arrival, they did not have us down on their books as having booked, which was extremely upsetting. They were only able to fit us in for 2, nights instead of the 4 we had booked through booking.com reservation made early February. Apparently this has happened on numerous occasions at this hotel with booking.com, leaving us worried about other bookings we had made for later in the year with booking.com. There were no other hotels nearby to accommodate us, and we did not want a caravan that booking.com offered us for the remainder of our stay. We were pretty fed up and did not want to waste what little time we had trying to phone and chase up accommodation elsewhere,which was all far more expensive and with what appeared to be no guarantee of a refund for additional costs, as hotel and booking com blamed each other. Otherwise, our stay and location was just what we had hoped for, but cut short.

I was disappointed with the bedroom / bathroom. It was smaller than expected and looked tired . The bathroom also needed upgrading , the grouting was dirty and a slight smell of drains .

The location was perfect for our visit to Sandringham and the tulip fields. All of the staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. Breakfast was plentiful , I had salmon with scrambled eggs which was delicious.

Really enjoyed my stay at King William iV. Staff were extremely friendly with my pet and me. They were very accommodating. Showed me around the hotel to all the fire exits and easiest ways to get my pet downstairs to the garden. The food was fantastic in the restaurant. Breakfast was great, served in a timely manner. Even helpful with my so that I could get coffee and toast.

The bar area is definitely in need of renovation - looked shabby in parts but loved the displays of art for sale.

Warmth and welcome from staff was a pure joy. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and all minor requests to meal changes were accepted without hesitation. Sparkly clean bathrooms with plenty of space for our own items plus lovely full size toiletries to use. Comfy beds with quality bedding and never heard any noise from downstairs or passing guests - big plus point for me.

I could not fault this stay the staff were very friendly and polite, a nice choice of beverages along with enjoyable menus. The manager Bruce was a very good example to staff giving 110% in his job

Our room was a bit small but it was fine for what we needed. Didn’t mind dogs in the bar area but personally did mind the fact that they are allowed in the restaurant area in the evening. New computer system appears to be causing problems….our bill for food and drink purchased during our stay wasn’t accurate. We were given a refund for incorrect billing. My advice to anyone staying here is to tally up your food and drink as you go or pay for it at the time rather than putting it onto your room bill.

Hotel is dog friendly and we appreciate that we knew this in advance but another guest staying had a dog that smelt to high heaven and left a trail of nasty fur wherever it went. Put us off our breakfast as the dog was in the restaurant and smelt so awful. Dogs should not be allowed in eating areas as its not pleasant or hygienic. This we appreciate is a personal opinion. Bed was a little too hard for us and pillows a bit lumpy.

Tuesday pie night saw an influx of large group of men which made it quite noisy and slowed up dinner service. Good trade for the hotel though.

In the dining area I thought the chairs were too tall for the tables, as I am short I found it a bit difficult and kept hitting my leg on the table when sitting back down. Apart from that a very pleasant stay.

The room was very comfortable and relaxing, it had a nice layout with everything you need. The restaurant and bar area was very welcoming, we sat in the bar area for dinner and we didn’t feel like we didn’t belong and the dining area was good and spacious as well. Very good accommodation for dogs as well as we brought our two small dogs.
