Stayed for 4 nights and room was not serviced once. No clean towels etc. Room did not have any wardrobes and only one chair considering it was a double room

Room was redecorated. Food at the pub tapas was excellent. Location was excellent . Lovely bakery next door .

Very narrow entrance to car park, but with advice from staff to put wing mirrors in and guidance from hubby, managed to get our Mitsubishi Outlander in and out without damaging anything! Wouldn't try a second time, so would pay for public car park. Not a fault of The King's Arms as a historic building.

Excellent location for centre of town. Staff friendly.

The room was not serviced during two night stay, so tea and coffee not renewed. This meant we had just four coffee pods and four milk pots for two people over two days, which is quite stingy. Couldn’t make tea as no more milk. I don’t like Tassimo coffee makers as the waste coffee pods are environmentally unfriendly, and there was no alternative. Instructions for the machine might have helped - had to Google how to use it. For room only (there are convenient cafes nearby for breakfast) I thought it a bit expensive. Food in the pub was very tasty, but portion size was small. We’re both in our 60s, so not big eaters, but our tagines left us feeling unsatisfied, and we didn’t appreciate the loud amplified live music, which prevented conversation. Even the staff were shouting over it.

Beautiful modern room, warm and with a comfortable bed. Good lighting - we both like to read. At rear of pub, so quiet. Very pleasant staff. Conveniently located in a lovely town.

Booked mainly due to many decent vegan options on menu, but when we arrived menu had changed. Not great. Room was a bit cold.

There was nothing we didn't like!

We loved our stay. They have done a fantastic job of modernising a building that is really old. We were astounded that on a very busy Friday night in the bar we couldn't hear any of the hubbub in our room. The food and staff were great....and although the turn in to the pub car park was disconcertingly tight, it can be done, and some quite large vehicles had managed it; very much worth it for the location right in the centre of such a lovely market town. I mustn't forget to mention the fantastic view from the beer garden!

Rooms were definitely on the small side & the bed! The dining room was a little messy and hadn’t been cleared /cleaned. On arrival we told there would be a band in the bar (later), so expected to hear noise & we were facing a busy street. However it was just for one night so was fine.

Location was great for us all. The landlady was very friendly and helpful. When we returned from our meal, we went into the bar. The band were very good and atmosphere was great. Great pizza place down the road!!!
