Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe fact that we were not staying longer!
We chose the location since Liver View is so near to Seacombe Ferry - in order to cross over to Liverpool the following day. Cost wise it most likely saved us pounds! However, there is plenty to see in Birkenhead, too; we took a short drive to New Brighton on the eve of our arrival. Liver View is very spacious, clean, freshly painted, light and airy. We parked our car in their car park behind the hotel. Dave, the owner, is exceptionally friendly and chatty and attended to showing us around the hotel initially, and cooked us a delicious full English breakfast. We stayed 2 nights. Very comfortable bed.

The location of this excellent value-for-money property is perfect for catching the ferry across the Mersey into the city, without paying city prices. We were made very comfortable and the owners are super friendly. Parking is free and breakfast was a real bonus. I would highly recommend staying here.

United KingdomThere was nothing that we disliked, and we would definitely stay here again.
Superb location for access to the Seacombe Ferry and Liverpool. Good parking. Owners made us feel very welcome. Our room was cosy rather than spacious, but it was perfectly adequate for our needs. We could see the Liverpool skyline from our window. The mattress on the bed was amazing, and the shower was very good. The cooked breakfast was very nice.

United KingdomHooks for towels will be good to have in bathroom.
One of the best B&B we've stay at. David and his mum very friendly and welcome people. The room and bathroom are big and clean. The bed is comfortable. A special thanks for the breakfast. I've got an alternative to pork, which I don't eat. It's really very kind and professional. Breakfast always fresh, hot and testy for your choice of combination of full English. Perfect place of Wallasey to walk through beech on promenade where you can reach a New Brighton. Will recommend this hotel to everyone.

United KingdomNothing to dislike about this place. We wandered up the local high street and found a nice Tandoori which was spotless, beautifully decorated and had great food! Shame it was about a mile away but the walk along the river front was lovely!
Started realy well as easy to find, and an easy to park car park! The hosts are so kind and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Carried bags up to room and made sure we had everything we needed. Warm spacious room with nice linen and modern ensuite shower. Great view of the garden and Liver Building across the Mersey. Dave the host gave us travel cards to top up at the local corner shop. This got us on the ferry across the mersey and back for £6! It works on trains and busses included in price too. Two minute walk to ferry terminal and regular, 10 to 20 minute trips straight into Liverpool centre on the decorated ferry with a history chat on the way and a couple of renditions of Ferry Cross The Mersey! Just £6 each way in a local taxi to Birkenhead for a gig in the evening. Realy well cooked, individual breakfasts and good coffee. Just past ferry port, there is a pretty waterfront walk to a gastro pub, the Ferry. Great! We will definitely stay again.

United KingdomNothing at all with regards to the hotel. It’s worth noting that there isn’t much in the way of bars, cafes, restaurants etc. in walking distance of the hotel but easy to get to new Brighton in the evening by car and public transport.
The hosts were incredibly freindly, welcoming and showed a genuine interest in the guests and their plans. Lovely big, comfortable room and bathroom. Breakfast was fabulous and the service was very good and freindly . Being right next to the Mersey ferry terminal was great and during the crossing you get an interesting commentary as a bonus. The hosts helped with transport information and made good recommendations to head to New Brighton for our first evening.
