Really liked the Manor Hotel and was impressed by the resort hotel and setting but disappointed by our spa experience.

Resort hotel and particularly the spa where we had booked a pool session was very busy. We were hoping for some quiet time and space at the spa but that wasn’t possible. The other thing we didn’t like was the heat in the room - found the air conditioning difficult to cool the room down.

Very clean, comfortable room and hotel. Excellent food - great breakfast food and setting. Great service and friendly staff.

At busy times, need more than 1 receptionist. The Manor feels a little dated in places

Staff were good and nice selection of teas and coffee in the room. Good breakfast. Great setting amongst the wider resort. Amazing gym in main hotel.

Lift provision inadequate. No lift to first floor, had to carry heavy case up a huge staircase to get to a distant lift. I’m 74 and arthritic. They only had one person on reception. Long wait to be dealt with. Signage in car park and hotel inadequate. Kept getting lost. Mini bar in existence but unstocked. No room service.

Lady in charge -Marta - was friendly, helpful and considerate, went beyond my expectations

Location of room! Up A flight of stairs long walk to lift then long walk to room. Not the best signposting. Carparking too far from hotel and £30 to park.

Catering was excellent and location near conference centre

The parking. You either pay £10 per 24hrs or £20 per 24hrs which I failed to research beforehand so that came as an unhappy shock. You can drop off outside the manor house but only for 20mins not very convenient especially if you were slow moving or the reception was.. from the time I arrived to actually taking in my room.. 45 minutes! It was a 10 minute walk from my car to my room. Well at least I got some steps in. Tip to the reception staff at the manor.. spend less time explaining menu options and more time actually explaining directions. The twin room was a free upgrade but the beds were two singles pushed together and really uncomfortable sadly. Don't be too persuaded by a posh ideal but at the same time it is a lovely place to stay.

Very clean and a lovely sized room. Bathroom was excellent, bath and shower superb. The hotel itself is very nice, attached to the main hotel. Pretty surroundings and well organised. Didn't eat there, but a few choices available and a tad pricey, looked good. It was a last minute treat for myself so splashed out a bit rather than my usual level of accommodation.. (cheap and cheerful!) The manor house is grand. Cleaning staff very friendly and helpful.

The card Machines did not work, so when i tried to pay for dinner, i could not pay on the machine, only added to the room. The food was very expensive for what it was....£40 for a Buffet menu, for £16.50 for a over cooked, cheesy pizza. The Bed in the room, was very small!

The Hotel was a stunning venue. The staff upon entry were very friendly and the process of booking in was very easy. Using the app to order food was very good.

The charge for parking. It was a steep uphill walk to the car park -a good job my partner is fit. There’s also a lot of corridor walking even to reach the lifts.

The swimming pool in the health spa was a great bonus and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a very good selection, but the cooked food was losing its heat. Perhaps we should have booked an earlier time. We enjoyed the chicken in a basket snack food in the bar and that was ideal as we didn’t want a lot, having eaten earlier. Overall it was good value for what we paid with booking.com. It’s ideal for an overnight stay and we would stay again.

Restaurant options and Room Service food options were not appealing nor diverse (even for no dietary requirements). It would be nice to have more gluten-free options, too. It would help to have a lift between the Ground and First floor, especially for people who struggle to use the stairs. Once, when the fire alarm went off, guests on my landing were confused and left to a meeting point. No one communicated to us about what happened and no one came to meet us. I called the Main Reception Desk but was met with voicemail because I called on a Saturday outside work hours. We waited for a long time before either returning to rooms when the alarm stopped, or abandoned waiting and left to the main Manor Resort where everything was functioning well with no awareness of the fire alarm in the Manor House. This felt dangerous, neglectful and unprofessional. Otherwise, it was a nice and restful stay.

Good gym facilities and exercise classes. Good air conditioning system in the room. Polite, friendly and respectful staff, especially the cleaning staff. Good daily cleaning service. It is nice to have activities to sign up for. Good decor and presentation.
