Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe arrived and the signposting for the car park was hard to follow. We were in the old section of hotel and the car park was miles away. However, we found it - and had a nice lunch ( although served the wrong thing but that was sorted) but then we couldn't get access to our room! - not eventually until about 3pm. We had to get changed in 5 mins flat to get to reception for our taxi. The Taxi company was booked on the recommendation of your staff Our taxi was then delayed for 30 mins (" the driver went off duty"). Fortunately another taxi was able to pick us up. We were catching a train from Newport to Cardiff for the Bruce Springstein concert and missed our train. Luckily they run frequently and we caught a train to arrive in time for the concert. On leaving the car park barrier didn't work - not just us but other guests too.

United KingdomThe carpets on stairs were very worn for a 4 star hotel . The car park was a long distance from the hotel - you also have to pay for parking. There is a shuttle bus to transfer you around but it took a while to arrive after ordering.

United KingdomThe cleanliness was ok, a lot of dust build up behind the TV, and the carpet wasn't hoovered properly, with hair found on parts of the carpet. I would have expected a slow closing toilet seat. I know it's not a major thing, but it's the first time in a long time I haven't had a slow closing toilet seat. The other issue I had was that I had an issue with my room, which I spoke to reception about. They said they would give me a call after speaking with maintenance, but never did. Other than that all the staff were really friendly and helpful, hence my overall rating.
The size of the room, the bed was amazing in size and comfort, the breakfast was really good with a lot of variety and friendly staff, and the hotel facilities. The location was perfect for me as I was at a weekend conference at the resort. Being afforded the resort facilities, like the gym, swimming pool etc... was great. Also, the quick access between the two establishments was amazing. There were also free drinking water stations which I thought was a really nice touch. The grounds themselves are amazing, even though I didn't get the chance to explore them in the entirety.

United KingdomResort hotel and particularly the spa where we had booked a pool session was very busy. We were hoping for some quiet time and space at the spa but that wasn’t possible. The other thing we didn’t like was the heat in the room - found the air conditioning difficult to cool the room down.
Very clean, comfortable room and hotel. Excellent food - great breakfast food and setting. Great service and friendly staff.

United KingdomLift provision inadequate. No lift to first floor, had to carry heavy case up a huge staircase to get to a distant lift. I’m 74 and arthritic. They only had one person on reception. Long wait to be dealt with. Signage in car park and hotel inadequate. Kept getting lost. Mini bar in existence but unstocked. No room service.

United KingdomThe parking. You either pay £10 per 24hrs or £20 per 24hrs which I failed to research beforehand so that came as an unhappy shock. You can drop off outside the manor house but only for 20mins not very convenient especially if you were slow moving or the reception was.. from the time I arrived to actually taking in my room.. 45 minutes! It was a 10 minute walk from my car to my room. Well at least I got some steps in. Tip to the reception staff at the manor.. spend less time explaining menu options and more time actually explaining directions. The twin room was a free upgrade but the beds were two singles pushed together and really uncomfortable sadly. Don't be too persuaded by a posh ideal but at the same time it is a lovely place to stay.
Very clean and a lovely sized room. Bathroom was excellent, bath and shower superb. The hotel itself is very nice, attached to the main hotel. Pretty surroundings and well organised. Didn't eat there, but a few choices available and a tad pricey, looked good. It was a last minute treat for myself so splashed out a bit rather than my usual level of accommodation.. (cheap and cheerful!) The manor house is grand. Cleaning staff very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe card Machines did not work, so when i tried to pay for dinner, i could not pay on the machine, only added to the room. The food was very expensive for what it was....£40 for a Buffet menu, for £16.50 for a over cooked, cheesy pizza. The Bed in the room, was very small!
The Hotel was a stunning venue. The staff upon entry were very friendly and the process of booking in was very easy. Using the app to order food was very good.

United KingdomThe charge for parking. It was a steep uphill walk to the car park -a good job my partner is fit. There’s also a lot of corridor walking even to reach the lifts.
The swimming pool in the health spa was a great bonus and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a very good selection, but the cooked food was losing its heat. Perhaps we should have booked an earlier time. We enjoyed the chicken in a basket snack food in the bar and that was ideal as we didn’t want a lot, having eaten earlier. Overall it was good value for what we paid with booking.com. It’s ideal for an overnight stay and we would stay again.
