Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only downside was the lack of lunchtime menu.
Lovely location with easy access to North Cornwall. The room was big with a good sized onsuite bathroom and a comfy bed. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Breakfast had good choices and was very nice and dinner in the restaurant was lovely.

AustraliaThe only issue was the cleanliness of the room was a bit underdone. Most surfaces really could have done with a thorough wipe over.
Lovely old mill nestled in a wooded valley. The food was excellent as was the friendliness of the staff. The owner was incredibly helpful pointing out places of interest around Tintagel.

United KingdomThe property in general seemed to be a little dusty in my opinion, I am aware people have different expectations to mine. If you need reliable phone signal this may be an issue, but this is due to location and not the fault of the Mill House.
Very friendly staff, food was good. Bedding and towels were clean. Bed was comfortable. Lovely location.

United KingdomAbsolutely amazing food, made out of local produce, fresh and delicious. You choose your breakfast the evening before, so it's being prepared right away when you come to the dining room in the morning. They also have a very good local beer at the bar. The place itself is very peaceful, set in beautiful scenery, surrounded by trees with a little creek flowing by the property. Heaven!! If you're travelling by car, come from the Tintagel's side ;)

United Kingdom☆ Cleanliness of the room/property wasn't the best. ☆ Limited dinner options (mostly fish or seafood based as they have a seasonal menu). ☆ Difficult to get to property due to the nature of the roads (sharp turns and steep hills).
☆ Good breakfast. ☆ Nice location and views. ☆ Welcoming and friendly staff.

United KingdomWe felt that some of the decoration was a bit tired and it could do with a lick of paint, albeit we recognise the difficulty that been experienced by the hospitality sector post the worst of the pandemic.
Breakfast was excellent providing a good selection of options. We also had our evening meals in the restaurant, there was a good choice and what we had was very good. The location was ideal being half a mile from the coast path which allowed use to go on a couple of circular walks using the coastal path and returning over footpaths or roads.

United KingdomI had to be really critical I'd say I would expect much higher quality produce for the breakfast buffet. When a room costs £150.00 per night how are you serving up Kellogs cornflakes, stale bananas, rotten fruit (there were chunks of overripe/rotten plum and strawberry in the fruit salad) and little plastic sachets of cheap honey and jam? I was personally expecting Cornish honey and Cornish jam, and it makes me wonder if anything served on the menu was actually local Cornish produce. When there's an actual honey shop in Tintagel and farms absolutely everywhere why would you not serve the glorious local Cornish produce to your customers, who are paying so much to stay with you? Problems with the rooms. We stayed in two different rooms across two nights. On our second night we were given a "Superior Double Room", which unfortunately had not been cleaned to a very good standard. We found a splash of something sticky (probably wine or another alcoholic drink) on one of the bedside tables, and the bathroom not only had black mould gathering in the corners but there was a large piece of decaying/disintegrating plaster and paint hanging over the window. There was dust everywhere, including the bed headboard and the bath tub. I had a closer look and could see that the toilet had not been cleaned properly either, with dust and stains around the rim. The bathroom floor felt sticky. I'm sorry but we paid £120.00 for the "Superior Double Room", that isn't acceptable really. This room was also directly above the bar downstairs so we had a lot of noise pollution for a couple of hours (between 8:00PM-10:00PM).
The location of The Mill House is very lovely! :-) You're very close to the beach of Trebarwith Strand, and there's a lovely river flowing by to the sea. The little valley is very quiet at night, and you're only a 30 minute walk or so from Tintagel. We walked from the bay across the South West Coast path to Glebe Cliff and into Tintagel, which was very bracing and beautiful. The food at The Mill House was pretty good. We had supper there for one night out of two, and were not disappointed by the steak and the Cornish mussels with focaccia. The cooked breakfast was also pretty good, I really enjoyed the smoked salmon and the kippers - delicious! However, the poached eggs were underdone and I couldn't eat one of them because it was quite 'snotty' :-(.

United KingdomBathroom didn't have a stand up shower which was disappointing. Bed was very uncomfortable and we could feel all of the springs. Breakfast was very good but the cooked part came out before we'd finished our cereal.
Food was excellent - delicious evening meal as well as breakfast. Superior double room was huge and plenty of space for us and the dog. Easy parking. All staff very friendly and great service all round. Try the Tintagel brewery beer - you won't be disappointed!
