Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe learnt that the hotel would be closing for a month in October for refurbishment. Hopefully the annex, where we stayed, will receive due attention as our room required some TLC. An annoying feature was the fact that the sink plug would not release after use, and after raising this issue was advised that it was because it was old! There were cobwebs in the wardrobe. The extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working and some of the floor tiles were cracked and uneven. Paintwork was peeling off around the door frame. Why was there two water logged mats outside the door and nothing inside to wipe our feet on?
The staff were all very friendly and efficient. The food was very good. Special mention must be made regarding the "full English" breakfast. We have eaten many such examples around the UK, but the Northey Arms consistent offering surpassed them in terms of quality and presentation. The location was good.

Czech RepublicIt is just 30m from a busy railway. The trains are surprisingly quiet but you will still hear them if your windows are oriented to the railside The chair did not match with the table - very uncomfortable if you needed to use it for the laptop A la carte breakfast took a lot of time as the only waitress had to cater for all the guest. We spend about 20 min waiting. If you are on a tight schedule, you rather drop the breakfast
Stylish room Complimentary tea and coffee in the room Cleanliness Comfy bed

DenmarkThe drains in the bathroom weren't working properly and hopefully it'll be fixed soon.
It's perfekt for staying a couple of nights so you'll have the time to visit Castle Combe and Bath before moving further on. The room was very nice, comfortable and although you have the trains behind you'll sleep well. The pub is modern. The food likewise and good.

South AfricaThe bedrooms are poorly ventilated, extremely hot, fan was making a horrible noise. Bedrooms are situated close to the railway line - high speed trains every now and again - they fortunately stopped later in the veing - but started again close to 05H00.
Breakfast was fantastic, beautiful buildings and lovely garden. Service of the waiters and bar personnel was exceptional.

United KingdomShame there weren't any biscuits to go with the tea/coffee. Only reason I gave it 9 and not 10.
Wanted a weekend in Bath. Saw this property and liked the look of it. It's about 6 miles from Bath City Centre, the bus stop is directly opposite, buses into the city are frequent and it takes about 20 minutes no hassle and much cheaper than trying to park in the city. The pub itself is lovely has a good selection of drinks and the food was very good. We had a deluxe double room in the main building, which was very tastefully decorated. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom had a large bath and separate shower enclosure. All very cleaning and well kept and the biggest white fluffy bath towels. Tea and coffee facilities are in the room, and they give you a little flask of fresh milk as you need it from the bar. There was a hairdryer and even an iron and ironing board inside the wardrobe. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Bath and the surrounding area.

United KingdomThis did not detract from our enjoyment of the stay but the floor by the bed and in the shower appeared to have underground heating which made the room overall a bit too warm. However, there was a large fan in the room so we used this.
This stay was excellent value for money. We were put in a room located in a building at the back of the pub and it was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very spacious with everything we needed and facilities to a high standard. We dined in the restaurant in the evening and the service and food was excellent. Breakfast was not included in our booking so we did not eat there. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

United KingdomThe room itself was nice but the rooms at the bottom of the garden are right next to the train tracks. I think it's freight as they went on all night for what seemed like every 30 mins. I thought it would stop late evening but was very noisy in the early morning. For that reason can't really recommend those rooms, it may be different in the main building...
Food is great and the staff were friendly at the restaurant albeit the guy who checked me in didn't really add much apart from 'here's the key...' Decent price and clean room

United KingdomIt was a warm day, and whilst the provided fan was a nice and unexpected touch, it was clear the skylight hadn't been opened for a while and showered us with debris. There was also quite a lot of dust around the corners, so whilst it all felt clean, it could use a touch more. I'd also note that for light sleepers, whilst road noise was minimal, you are right on the train line and with the windows open, that was very loud. Didn't happen often and I think tailed off around midnight, but YMMV. There was also a bright green light (possibly some kind of alarm) in the ceiling that was quite annoying to get used to. Minor inconveniences (we'd happily return) but could be problematic.
A great spot to get away from the motorway for a bit. The rooms are apart from the pub, so noise wasn't an issue from that direction, and felt pretty private. Bed was comfy; room was small but well-proportioned, so we had more than enough room including space for hanging clothes, ironing kit, and a small desk you could work from. WiFi seemed solid too.
