A lovely cosy hotel / pub / restaurant, Great staff, excellent evening meal and breakfast, Nice to have the Butcombe ale on draft too. Room was really comfortable and cosy.

Located on a fairly busy road so a light sleeper may not have the most restful night. There was no air conditioning so it did get warm when the windows were shut tight.

Beautiful decor, huge bathroom & the pub was lovely. We had a couple of delicious meals there and enjoyed the garden area. Box is a lovely village and a very easy drive to Bath.

The train line is right outside the window, and you hear them whoosh past day and night.

The room was clean, the stafff were friendly and helpful. All amenities at the hotel , and everything that we needed was available to us. Access to public transport to Bath was available to us.

The ants that invaded during the first night (promptly resolved by the excellent staff), the noise from the railway (the family accom is right next to it - this is not advised in the advertising/upon booking) and the noise from the occupants of the room above - like a herd of elephants!!

The main door was very difficult to unlock and they are aware of this but seemingly aren't doing anything about it other than telling people it's difficult and needs jiggling.

I loved the surprise of finding that they had bought Station House, which had been owned by a very close friend who sadly died too soon 17 years ago, and turned it in to rooms. I slept in what would have been his office. So it was really very unexpected and made the stay really delightful. Tim was in Event Management & Hospitality and would have been pleased with the renovation of the building and what it's become today. That meant a lot to me too.

Maddie really great, helped us out when the bus to Bath sailed past us! Food really nice, some interesting choices nit just pub grub. Convenient for Bath, though Box itself is very nice too

The booking in was a bit confusing, I think due to a breakdown in communication between booking.com and the hotel. I could have sworn the website said there were no en suite facilities and I should upgrade if I wanted them; so I did, only to be told on arrival that all rooms had en suite. However, it was a fortunate accident in that I had upgraded to a luxurious space and bathroom that were just what I needed. I then got two contradictory invoices. Another two things that I didn't like, were: that the bathroom had an automatic light which you couldn't switch off so you get a full blast of brightness if you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night (try sleeping after that!); and sound-proofing is not very good so I could hear bathroom sounds from next door very clearly whilst resting in bed. The devil is in the details, they say, and I did keep feeling that's where they were slipping up.

The room and bed were extremely comfortable, the bathroom luxurious. I didn't have dinner but if the breakfast was anything to go by, it's probably excellent because the breakfast couldn't have been better. It was cooked with flair whilst still delivering what you expect from a good breakfast. The staff are really wonderful and helpful, and it is they who really bring the colour and vivaciousness to the place.

We had obviously been lucky on our previous trip in January as unfortunately the price for the same room had hiked up, somewhat, and the traffic noise had also increased.

The staff are exceptional. I can overlook a great deal if I get good service and this was great. My wife and I stayed a few months ago and we were bowled over by the accommodation and service and this time we also enjoyed a delicious evening meal and breakfast.

Whole building was too warm including room despite radiator being off - thankfully the windows opened.

The Roku TV in the room was very hard to use, we spent nearly 40 minutes just trying to register to use.

the room was amazing and the bathroom was huge! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening in the bar and looked forward to relaxing in the room. We hadn't booked breakfast but decided to add it to our reservation and it was lovely.
