You do have to park in the village car park Menu was sometimes limited when things weren’t available

Location is perfect. Right on the edge of the harbour with views to die for. Great food and the opportunity to eat breakfast or have pre dinner drinks on the balcony. Manager is great, really helpful.

The tv in the room wasn’t working and too small for the room . We had a family above us and could here the children crying . I think they should think about where guests stay on arrival if families are in the hotel as we were kept up from the banging jumping and crying .

The location was fantastic the beds were super comfy and very clean

The fact that we had to leave, to come home.

My wife and l were desperately in need of a holiday due to illness over the past 20 months. I chose the St Mawes Hotel for its reputation for excellence. We arrived late afternoon and were met by Joseph who greeted us as though we were friends and then showed us to our room. My wife was absolutely delighted with our Harbour view room. We had not booked an evening meal but Joseph effortlessly organised a table overlooking the Harbour. Dinner was awesome and Joseph's recommendation was perfect. Joseph, Conor, and Patrick made our stay incredibly special. We will definitely be returning.

The evening menu was decidedly fine dining, but would have liked an option that wasn’t £100 per person.

Spectacular location on the water front. Cleanliness and staff were excellent. The breakfast was wonderful: not a huge selection but great quality.

Reception was confusing. I think there could be a designated area for this. Confronting a bar with local football team was a bit confronting

We loved breakfast. Looked forward to it. Delicious fresh pastries, fresh fruit, what more could you want. Others had cooked breakfast but we didn't.

Beautiful hotel in the bay of St Mews with great views on the harbour. We visited with a dog and were very welcome in the special dog friendly rooms. The bar and restaurant are great with beautiful views. The hotel is just a short walk away from other restaurants and pubs, so perfectly allocated in the village. The room was specious and clean, and the staff surprised us with dog treats. Will visit again!

Fan broken in the bathroom. Could not turn off the heated mirror which made the room warmer than liked. Sash windows rattled on windy nights.

There was never anyone on the small reception so you had to go to the bar. That was quite busy so trying to get someone to help with anything was a bit of a problem. Also some of the staff need to smile more. Some of them not all just didn’t seem to want to be there. They got my breakfast order wrong 3 out of the seven days we were there. The yogurts had a use by date on that was over & nobody noticed. Having said that I Googled to see if okay to eat & apparently you get up to 2 weeks. Not what you expect from an expensive Hotel.

The hotel is beautifully decorated & the rooms clean & comfortable. The bathroom a lovely size with an amazing shower & lovely soft fluffy towels & great toiletries. The breakfast had an amazing choice & was delicious.

Our only minor issue was with the dining furniture the club chairs are great for sitting in but not so good for eating and it is difficult to fit your feet around the table leg.

Great location with amazing views. Very comfortable, relaxed ambience. Lively bar and good restaurant. We loved that we parked the car and didn't use it until we went home. We either walked or got the ferry. Although we didn't take our dogs we will next time because the hotel and the village is totally dog friendly.
