First stay as we went twice the room faced the road. The second visit was facing the fields and had a lovely view.

We had breakfast externally due to time constraints. No other meals as we were booked in the village.

Dining room made dingy by brown tables and white table cloths would have elevated the dining experience. Food at dinner was an ordinary pub level experience whereas breakfast had very good choice and very good quality dishes. Family joined us at dinner as it was a birthday celebration and the Happy Birthday plate was greatly appreciated!

Very nice room and very good staff. Attentive and helpful.

Paid extra for one of the deluxe rooms. For the price I expected the standard of the room to be more luxurious, it was nice but overall felt quite tired, especially compared to other hotels I have stayed in for the same price. Overall I think the pictures make it seem nicer than it is, however the bed was comfy and the staff were very nice so it wasn't a negative experience.

    Nice staff. Very helpful.

Breakfast was a bit basic - expensive for what it was. Bacon was too thick, lacked baked beans. When I had the pancakes, the bacon was really thick back bacon - should have been streaky bacon.

Really lovely staff. Fantastic location. Room was clean and had lovely views.

Bathroom small with no shelves to speak of. Paintwork a little shabby in some of the public areas. Pillows felt and looked cheap along with valance skirt on the bed. Only one bedside lamp

Free parking. Good location. Food very good staff extremely friendly and helpful. Pleasant dining room and bar. Garden would be nice in the summer as it was quite spacious.

Sunday evening meal was odd. Identical choice served looking entirely different with different amounts of ingredients. A Caesar salad should have croutons not chunks of white bread.

Nice building, comfortable room, and large bed.

Breakfast was excellent and very reasonable. The location in the centre of Hay on Wye is delightful. The staff could not have been more helpful and my wife and I had a wonderful time. The afternoon tea was huge, delicious and very reasonably priced. I was particularly grateful as my wife has a bad back and the staff filled a hot water bottle for her back when we were leaving.
