Lovely welcome, very comfortable room, everything spotlessly clean, beautiful views, lovely food, good gluten-free choices, tastefully decorated premises, complimentary sherry in room, friendly staff, lovely fire in dining room. Not necessarily in that order! Everything perfect. A must visit destination.

An excellent hotel , amazing location with stunning scenery. The staff all went above and beyond to make us feel welcome . I would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here if visiting the area . Both our egg vending meal and breakfast were delicious . Lovely friendly atmosphere in the bar at night . Also had a very comfortable sleep .

Our room had no blind on the bathroom window. Although, the manager I believe, said it was not possible to see in I don’t think she would of been impressed if she was actually staying in that room. Didn’t like her attitude. The shower was very poor also. The room was really comfortable but the bathroom was not up to standard.

The Bar area, comfortable. Our bedroom no 10. Loved the decor, furniture, and facilities. All needs covered. Shower room good and lighting good. Did have problems with the shower, We were made very welcome. Particulary the Australian couple who were attentive friendly and competent. Did not like the dining area decor, I love blue, but it was far too dark and made it look gloomy, also the lighting bit gloomy. Great cutlery and crockery. We enjoyed our evening meal, but my breakfast bacon and potato tattie were rock hard, good sausages and egg.

The Tongue Hotel has the feel of a historic property that has been kept up and given just the right amount of modernization. We only spent one night here as we were traveling through, but I could see staying here for several day.

Great location - really glad we had not gone on to Durness where accommodation is limited. Comfortable highland hotel overlooking Kyle of Tongue. Very good staff and plenty on hand. Spend enough time to get out to Varrich Castle and take in the views from the surrounding hills. Excellent food in restaurant - have a good chef right now. We did have a problem with our room overnight - out of hotel's control - but manager Marcel sorted it out promptly and reflected the problem on our final bill. A little gem of a hotel.

The location was pretty remote as noted above. Also the sound proofing was poor - we could hear the people in the room above us banging around and could also hear them snoring which was a shame!

Location was great for a short stop over - not much to do in the town but worked well for our 1 nights stay on the NC500. We loved the castle walk and the room was nice and spacious. The free standing bath in the room with loch views was amazing!

Stayed in the deluxe king room, really spacious however above the toilets which means you have the hand dryer noise. A little disappointed but no noise after 11pm.
