The beds are very soft, which some people may like, but I prefer a firmer bed. The breakfast that was included was a little disappointing, not many options and no cutlery out, had to use a teaspoon to spread anything

Very tired bedroom. The layout of the room could be improved by moving beds around. There was a leak in our room from the room above. We tried to phone reception on our mobiles, but it was continuously engaged. When we went to breakfast, we were told the manager would be informed. Good thing we put a bucket under the drips and thankfully it didn’t get any worse. Breakfast was a long winded affair as the table needed to be replenished continuously. There was only 1 person on duty and she was backwards and forwards. Why she didn’t have more cereal pastries etc out in the first place was beyond me. After we left I had to contact the hotel, using the booking app (phone line still engaged) as we had forgotten an item. I received a reply to say it would be posted but it was never received. PS I did say that we would reimburse P&P

For the price everything above expectation, but if I have to put something then maybe more sounding proofing of the rooms. Could hear the person in neighbouring room snoring

Could hear people walking upstairs. My dinner, which was lovely, took 50 minutes to arrive. Not a big deal but I was hungry after long, long drive. And breakfast is continental, not full English. But can’t complain too much for the amazing price.

It was very cozy. Very good food and lovely staff. Great atmosphere in pub area and in local village for a walk. Fantastic price for stopover.

When I arrived at 6 pm my room was not ready and I got the impression that things were somewhat disorganised. Reading some of the other reviews suggests this is often the case. Not a problem for me as I was there to relax and chill out but could be if your visit was for an event, occasion or work. Breakfast was basically a choice between 3 or 4 cereals followed by toast . It was sufficient for me and you could not really expect more for the room price but people expecting a 'Full English' would be disappointed .

This is a good value hotel in a great location for those visiting local attractions (Fleet Air Arm Museum, lots of nearby National Trust properties etc.) or heading Westwards on A303. I assume it was initially the village pub but now more of a Restaurant/Bar with Rooms. I did not eat in the Restaurant as I had made prior arrangements in nearby Ilchester. Room was comfortable with nice bed and a desk. Nice quiet village setting but not far from main arterial road.

Waited over an hour for dinner and had to ask what had happened to it. We were a bit stresses as visiting Mum in hospital and had to be on time!

Only thing that I personally thought let this down was there is no soap/ shower gel or washing products in the bathroom. Thankfully I had my own on my stay.

It’s in a loverly quiet little village, easy to find and park right outside. A very warm and welcoming place. Sat one evening chatting with the locals and staff after a very nice meal. Food was great and fairly priced.

Heating didn’t work and it was cold. This was rectified later but left on all night so it became very warm. Food was poor, and nothing like pictures on the website.

Recently refurbished, it was clean and comfortable.

The breakfast was disappointing. It was a cold breakfast, but not very appetising. However, the value overall was fantastic so this is a small area that let the property down.

The room, staff and restaurant was nice. The location is in a pub. but really this was a bar in the restaurant and the atmosphere was not that great, but okay.
