The dining areas are dismal and old fashioned. Would have preferred table service for breakfast rather than buffet. Odd that you had pay for drinks/meals as you had them rather than charge to room. Common knowledge that the hotel is going to be demolished so unlikely to see major updates/mtce.

Swimming pool was lovely, large and warm. Plenty of space in the hotel. Location is excellent for getting around particularly walking the countryside. Restaurants close by and high quality. We had a roast beef dinner in the hotel which was top notch especially the beef (tender, tasty and melt-in-the-mouth).

Did not feel as though I was staying in a 4 star hotel. Hotel dated and run down in parts and room was very basic. The chine hotel is much better value for money.

The location of the hotel is fabulous , our room was very well presented . The reception staff were disappointing ,not very friendly , or engaging .

Not many people stay to the evening meal which reduces the atmosphere. You are offered three menus, a special, a lite bite one and and on a Sunday - a Sunday menu. So you could be eating a wrap at £12 say next to somebody ordering lobster at £78. Wine is reasonable at £26 but then jumps up - who would order expensive bottles whilst the table next to you is eating snacks I don't know. The sister hotel has a much better menu in my opinion. On the first evening the special menu was not appealing to me. On the second evening (Sunday) the Sunday lunch type meal was lovely. I just think they need to think about this - as it is a confused offering.

Brilliant location, wonderful heated outdoor pool. Inside pool out of action during our visit. Good gym facilities. Room was smallish but functioned perfectly well. Very good breakfast. Hotel is a little 'plain' and could do with a little touch here and there of something pretty, if that makes sense.

This time, I was disappointed as our room was side on to the sea with flats in front and the car park where teens met til late. The room was also one of few which had not had an upgrade to air con so it was roasting!!

I was a bit spoilt having visited 12 months ago and had an amazing sea front view.

A bit tired, but I am sure this hotel has seen many, many thousands of guests, so I guess it shows it has been loved and well used. Don't let this put you off at all.

As many people have mentioned, the hotel is looking a bit tired around the edges. But saying that we had a brilliant 3 night stay and enjoyed the spa facilities many times. We ate in the hotel for dinner on 2 evenings and the food was really good. We had a room with a balcony facing the harbour, which was worth the extra. We would return if we had the chance again. One word of caution on using Uber taxis, they don't seem to like coming out to Sandbanks to either collect or return, so don't rely on them too much.

The point restaurant don’t bother booking evening meal there. Some areas need a tidy up but it is an old building with some lovely features.

Location and view from sea view rooms beautiful. Rooms are small but have everything you need, breakfast good, pool area both in and out good.
