Beautifully located hotel with a view of the fjord. The room was okay with a simple bathroom. Fine for an overnight stay. Great breakfast.

A pitty that the space and nice view was not used to put some more nice chairs to enjoy the view, or some games like biljard or darts ..(since there is nothing else to do at night in the area).

    NIce location, nice reception, convenient

The breakfast is a bare minimum, but everything is fresh and good. The rooms are not air-conditioned, and are a bit dated, but functional.

The placement of the hotel is beyond beautiful. Fantastic fjord view and rooms with a view of said fjord and the sunset in summer. It's also really calm and quiet.

A great introduction to our holiday. We arrived late but they prepared a wonderful salmon dinner.

Perhaps just my room but it could have done with a bit of repair; door had some broken glass and was very stiff, shower did not drain particularly well but neither of these impacted my enjoyment of my stay

When you arrive in this venue you are transported in the time, the venue fabricated in wood and with more than 1.000 different sized windows offers a great service and good quality of dishes. Rooms are grateful designed, conformable. The location of the hotel is first line fjord, so you enjoy a great picture of the midnight sun, surrounded by nature. Attention and love to detail is the brand of the venue.

    - it was a bit dusty. - just a suggestion, we had a Handic-room, maybe its possible to fix a Handle in the shower, so it would be more easier for the handicaped person to help herself. thanks

Such a beautiful and quiet place at the Fjord! We had one of our most quiet nights there! Very comfortable beds, we slept very well. The hotel itself is so lovely and so natural designed. The stuff was so helpful and friendly. Very good dinner, thx. it was a pitty, that we could´nt stay one more night.

Our stay in Brekkestranda Fjiordhotel on April 27th. We arrived around 9pm at the hotel; however no staff was there and the reception was well closed and there was no indication about the check-in procedure, nor who to contact, but two Norwegian cellphone number stocked on a closed reception door with no indication whatsoever. We then tried our best and only option which was calling several times such number hoping they were meant to be called when the reception was closed (we later figured out that they were the same numbers available on brekkestranda website we called during the afternoon). Anyway, guess what? Nobody answered our many calls. By the way, we also sent an email which is still unanswered (let me know if you need it). We were then really scared to be forced to spend the night outdoor sleeping in our car. As last resort, before doing that, we looked around and we realized that many rooms were left open… So we decided it was better to sleep in one of such rooms as we duly paid for a room and in Norway is currently 2-7 Celsius and during the night it could go below the 0. It goes without saying that we truly felt scared and unsafe, spending the night in a place that looks abandoned and could have been easily accessed by everybody. We are three siblings doing a family trip and we basically spent the night guarding in turn the door while the other two were trying to get some rest. As a final remark, this morning we have been woken up by the fire alarm which rang for something like 15 minutes. As soon as we realized that there was no fire (besides this is something that the facility team was supposed to check but nobody shown up), we decided to leave immediately this nightmare. Please also consider that we are world backpack travelers with a lot of experience, so we are used to different facilities and uncommon hospitality manners. It simply never happened before to have the clear feeling that we were spending the night in some sort of abandoned hotel.

it’s a great location, but please see what we didn’t like about the facility. There was no staff and we basically entered in a room left open so that we didn’t have to spend the night in the car.

The hotel has seen better days. The rooms and buildings are from the 70s, have not been maintained, lots of spider-webs and the furniture is a mix of everything, in an apparent attempt to modernise. The hotel boasts of jacuzzi, but it was not in use and emptied of water (visited the first week of august). The location is amazing but sitting in the lounge chairs in the social zone, your back is either turned away from the view or blocked by wooden walls that may have been visually popular in the 70s, but now they just look worn out. This place would have been amazing with floor-to-ceiling windows so you could actually get the panorama view when sitting inside. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming! The dinner was nice. Breakfast is very lacking. Scrambled eggs and some bacon or pieces of sausage is everything they have expect bread, salami and slices of cheese. They advertise freshly made waffles for breakfast, but we saw nothing of that. To everyone who enjoys tasting local beer on your journey, you will be disappointed as they only serve 1 beer, Hansa. Seldom do I see a hotel that has only one beer. Quite disappointing and I expect a lot more when paying such a price. The outside areas are not maintained. Flower pots are full of weeds, dirty windows. This place has a huge potential that is not utilised at all. Sadly, we will not be coming back unless some "new blood" comes in and sees the potential in refurbishing and making a modern hotel experience. The WiFi does not reach all rooms.

The location is beautiful and very close to one of the main roads through Western Norway
