Convenient location, welcoming hotel with nice staff.
    • Leisure trip
    • Solo traveller
    • Superior Queen Room
    • Stayed 1 night

TV was small, especially for a large room. Would prefer a dedicated shower not shower over bath.

Simple but a big room, food was good.

Only instant coffee in the room (my dad is American and missed real coffee). The toiletries provided were very basic (soap and a dispenser in the shower), could do with shampoo. The breakfast was nice but a little expensive, especially for the kids who don’t eat a lot.

It was clean and well kept. The kids enjoyed the pool every day! The location was ok, we were able to walk to most places.

Room and hallways were somewhat dated by modern standards.

The view from the window was awful, windows blocked by brick pillars. Guessing this was just the age and how the building was built but couldn’t see anything out the window at all.

Location was good not far from the Barbican and the city centre. The pool area and steam and sauna was a nice extra to use. Parking was easy and hassle free. Staff were helpful and friendly.

I hadn't mentioned in the booking that I had a leg condition and had to go down three steps without a bannister, this was situated on the 3rd floor, so I consider this my fault at not mentioning this beforehand.

Didn't have breakfast, could not see a justification for an additional £15, extra sure but not £15.

No complaints! Served all my needs for a one night stay & central location a big plus.
    • Business trip
    • Solo traveller
    • Small Single Room
    • Stayed 1 night

Room was a little small (but not complaining given the price! - and certainly adequate to my limited needs). It's an old-fashioned, voluminous hotel that has no doubt seen better days. But very much served its purpose for a short stay - I hope it can remain a going concern!

Bargain rate. Nice central location - I was travelling back from Spain & arrived late needing easy early access to work the following morning. So my stay was very short. But the interaction I had with staff with very positive & breakfast was also more than adequate. Would definitely recommend & stay again.

The view from the room was awful but as we were there for only 1 night it didn’t matter too much. A functional room.

The location was brilliant. Right next to the venue. The beds were comfortable. The staff were absolutely lovely too.

The lift is not ideal, but I can see it's difficult in an old building. It was slow to arrive, and staff were having to use it with a trolley full of bedding, which took up a lot of room. When I first went to my room there were a few empty bottles and glasses in the corridors, which didn't give a good impression.

My bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was good - especially the kippers and poached egg. The swimming pool was lovely, an added bonus.
