Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBreakfast somehow didn't work. Coffee a bit cold, cereals etc are better self-service so one can mix it up (eg a little muesli, a little yoghurt a little fruit as against a bowl of each) hot food served on cold plates. Still haven't been emailed an itemised bill (did I get that wrong?)
Lovely room decor Lcation perfect - just a few minutes walk to shops and restaurants, or to The Circus

United KingdomThe only thing I’d note is the communal coffee machine for the bedrooms - like the concept but might be worth a wee demo so you’re not trying to figure it out in your pjs on first waking (but that might just be me!)
My Mum and I stayed here en route to a family wedding in South Devon. A lovely hotel, ideally located for nice restaurants, independent shops and the city centre while sufficiently tucked away with no noise. Staff are lovely, breakfast was excellent and the valet parking is completely worth the money if you’re bringing a car (saves so much time and stress!) Will definitely be back!

United StatesGreat location in upper Bath, which is a lovely part of town, very near The Circus and Royal Crescent. Our room ( Master Deluxe) was very spacious and comfortable, with a huge bathroom. Breakfast was included in our rate and was very good, with many choices. The hotel has several nice common rooms and lots of outdoor seating as well. Staff were all friendly. We also took advantage of the valet parking which was super convenient.

AustraliaWe had to coach the young bar staff on making a Pimms! But I spoke to the manager and he sorted it all out very satisfactorily.
Beautiful property. Very elegant, but also welcoming. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant and it was amazing and enjoyed a drink in the small garden each evening. We made the most of our visit. Our room had Airconditioning which was fantastic as it was very hot in Bath at the time.

NorwayA fan or climate control unit in the back garden made a whole lot of noise in the garden and to the adjacent room , e.g. room 5. Everything else is so perfect, it is a pity that they have not found a solution for getting rid of the noise.
This one of the nicest hotels I have ever visited. I believe we have stayed here about 7 times, the first time i 1996. Sice our last stay the rooms have been decorated even nicer.

United KingdomPretty much zero negatives- the only thing is that there wasn’t an iron in the room. However, we called reception and they brought one up to our room in a matter of minutes.
The staff were fantastic and always went above and beyond! We were given a free room upgrade when we arrived and had a personalised note in our room, which was a lovely touch! The hotel is a beautiful and situated just outside the hustle and bustle of the centre, so it was lovely and quiet.

United StatesThis is a lovely street, perched on a hill outside of the main retail district, but walkable, if hills are not a problem. Having booked a location that seemed more removed from the action of the city, I was surprised to be awakened by noisy people in the streets anywhere from 12-3 am. Being from Brooklyn, it's not an unusual thing, but I didn't expect it. Windows needed to be open without AC, so the street noise was definitely noticed. Maybe it's worse on a weekend. We also came and went with very little interaction with the house staff, reception is tucked away when you walk in, which felt more like we were staying in a house not a hotel, which I think some folks will like, but you are also paying 5% of your bill for front of house tips. Overall, a really cool location and space, and a wonderful city.
A beautiful restored building, great rooms, bathrooms were lovely. Large room, closet space, coffee station in the hall on our floor.
