Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is a huge hotel; the service is impersonal. For instance, I wanted a receipt for my payment. First, they told me I could get it at check-out. At check-out, they told me it would be emailed to me. It didn't happen.
Good location, renovated and clean rooms

SwitzerlandThe bathroom wasn't was clean as it could have been, the shower wasn't great (lack of pressure and water standing in the bath) and one of the bedside lamps didn't have a lightbulb
The location was amazing and the tower bridge view completely worth it. The room was nice and comfortable.

AustraliaMy room first floor single beds, as a friend was coming to stay was a bit tatty. around the edges When I came back after a trip into the country my double room was fine.
The view from my room probably the best ever since first staying at The Tower in the 80s The procimity to attractions and the Tube and the opportunity to cross the Thames and walk to the Tate Modern and down to the Eye.

New ZealandNothing, it was all good. Only slight improvement would be a mini bar in the room for the fridge but we got ice buckets sent to the room no probs.
Great location - recommend St Katherine's Docks behind the hotel for cafes etc, tesco metro and Tower Hill tube nearby or short walk to London Bridge, Borough Market over Tower Bridge. Room was a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. Loved that we could open the windows for fresh air. Hotel staff were great, everyone from reception, concierge, room service and housekeeping. Great price for great location.

United KingdomRoom and bathroom both need updating. Very dated. Bathroom could do with a modern shower. Quite small compared to other hotels. Breakfast was very expensive so we chose to go elsewhere.
We’ve stayed here a few times over the years and we love the location being right next to tower bridge and the river. Views from the rooms are lovely.

United KingdomAmazing location, fantastic views. The bed was huge and very comfortable. We had a lovely margarita at the bar one night after a day of sightseeing. My husband proposed at this hotel 7 years ago and it hasn’t lost its appeal. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

United StatesThe hotel was located nicely for the area of London we were in. It was right beside the Tower Bridge and Tower of London. It was located close to 2 train stations and a nice walk to another larger train station. The hotel was older but comfortable, and clean, the staff were extremely nice and helpful, the little onsite Starbucks was good, the restaurant/bar had good food and drinks with a view of the river and bridge (we did not try the larger restaurant on site), the breakfast was good and convenient, and the hotel is located at St. Catherine docks that had nice restaurants with really good food. The shower had amazing water pressure which I loved as hotels do not usually have great water pressure. We had a very pleasant stay here.

United KingdomThe breakfast was poor and did not represent value for money. For the price I don't expect to do my own toast etc. The polish was knocked off our stay when at check in they took the full amount twice and only refunded it within half an hour after I challenged them. No sorry Sir just blamed their online system, in this digital age makes you suspicious. Customer service NIL on this occasion.
