We upgraded to a garden room only to find there was a wedding and our room was the route both guests and staff used

My husband used the pool which he said was very good. We seem to hit breakfast as each ingredient needed replacing so that was a little disappointing but the breakfast choices were excellent. The garden room was very good but would’ve liked to see and use a bath mat when showering. It was quite noisy after wedding party and guests leaving. On the whole very good

Our room was at the end of the new block which was out in the middle of the car park. It didn't have good sound proofing and felt a bit soulless and removed from the main hotel. I would have liked to have been given robes and footwear for use of the spa rather than just a towel, some guests, presumably those in the main hotel, received robes, so it felt a bit exclusionary for us, and walking around in a damp towel wasn't very pleasant. There was also no dry lounge area to relax in the spa, I wanted to read a book but everywhere was too wet. The dinner allowance was seemingly generous, but in actuality it did not go very far given the price of the drinks and dishes. This was understandable for the main formal restaurant where the dishes were clearly fine dining but for the bar/lounge we expected a little more value for money.

The location was great for exploring the Wirral, we were only staying a short time but I would have enjoyed using this hotel as a base to explore the area further. We enjoyed a walk into the main village of Thornton Haugh. The hotel itself was clean, the room comfortable with a large bed and good bathroom with a large bath and nice toiletries. We enjoyed the added bonus of having a smart television in the room. We also noted the coffee machine although we didn't use it. The staff were faultlessly kind, helpful, attentive and welcoming. They were the highlight of the hotel. I really appreciated their attention to dietary requirements and allergies during dinner and breakfast. Our package included dinner allowance, breakfast and access to the spa which stayed open late. We went to the spa after dinner on the first evening and enjoyed trying out the spa facilities and the different thermal experiences on offer. We didn't pay for any additional treatments or use the gym. The food and drinks at the terrace and Lawns were high quality, the Lawns was especially well presented and clearly prided their use of excellent seasonal produce.

The staff in the spa cafe where quite rude and miserable and it was £6 to rent a dressing gown when we had already spent extra on spa access

if you stay in room 249 unfortunately its next to the external door....... (where the smokers go) so the smoke finds its way into the room.

Was excited to see a tv in the bathroom and was looking forward to watching something in the bathtub but the tv remote control was broken and couldn’t navigate the screen.

Close to Cheshire oaks which was perfect location for us and they had nice spa facilities across that was included in our stay. Perfect after a day of shopping.

I didnt like the spa area. It was tired, just pool, hot tubs, steamt and sauna. All were a little crowded. Small hot tub not working very well Needs an update and more experiences added. Had to pay extra for towels, robes and slippers. Treatment rooms and resting room very nice however.

The hotel restaurants were beautiful and all the food we had was high standard.
