Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe all in one open bathroom was not practical after using the shower as everything stays wet.
Just a short walk from downtown, check in was no fuss, room was cozy.

United KingdomBed wasn’t very comfy, mattress too low for the frame so rolled over you hit the wooden side of the bed, had to use a pillow to cushion the sides. The skylight has no blind or curtain so the room is very bright early in the morning. The hallway lights don’t turn off which shine a light through the door frame.
Good location with street parking. Simple and clear instructions with the lock box.

United KingdomMight want to consider leaving car in town once dropping bags.
Just a short walk into the bars and restaurants at the top of town and dead close to Baltic Market. Was quiet when back in the evening and were very grateful that we could drop bags in earlier than check in.

United KingdomDidn’t get a great first impression of the area, but to be fair I had no problems. Was a bit cold on check in and the heating seemed to be externally controlled, so couldn’t turn it on. Later though it came on and was nice and warm in the end. A few other minor issues like main light did not work, bathroom and shower cubicle are a very tight squeeze and there was no blind on the roof light window, so was a bit bright in the morning when I was trying to have a lie in!
The outside of the property looks pretty rough and unappealing, but totally different story inside. Really nice apartment with good facilities. Suitable for a single traveller or a couple. Plenty of free parking available. Approx 20 min walk from the centre of Liverpool.

United KingdomThere was a glitch with getting the key, compensated for with complimentary breakfast.
The room is fine for a single traveller or a couple. It was clean, warm and had towels, shapoo, tea and coffee. The property had a shared lounge and kitchen area though I did not not use it. The street location is quiet. Restaurants, pubs and the city centre are a 10-20 minutes walk or a bus ride.

United KingdomThe outside of the property was a bit shabby and the location generally was slightly ‘rough’ looking. The security of the main door into the property also felt quite flimsy, like a good kick would have opened it!
The room was very nicely decorated and felt cosy

United KingdomDial on the shower wasn't working, so you could only have scalding hot water or freezing cold. Bed was quite comfy but I worried I was going to break it - seemed a bit creaky and felt it wasn't quite sturdy enough. Fridge was a little noisy, so turned it off overnight.
Light and airy room nice to have open windows. Free and easy parking. Close to where I needed to be. Quiet. Fridge and hairdryer supplied. Easy check-in.

NetherlandsOverall, the room (I was in Room 3) definitely looked a bit run down: chipped edges of the beds, cracks on the walls. The doorframe did not have the strike plate (lock receiver in the door frame) and the door only locked on 1 key turn and still was a bit loose because of the missing plate, which made me a bit uncomfortable as a solo female traveller. In the bathroom the towels had visible old stains on them. A minor thing also was that the tv remote seemed to have run out of batteries as it was not working (but the tv was).
The location of the property was very convenient - has a bus stop less than 1 minute away with all major lines leading to the city centre, but itself the house is located outside of the busy areas so it's decently quiet in the night! The check-in process was super easy and the host communicated with me quite promptly. Was very happy to see that we had a common kitchen where I could borrow utensils and plates for my breakfasts and dinners. All in all, a good value for money in the period I was there (during the Eurovision week), and a very charmingly decorated room as well!

United KingdomParking wasn't an issue just it was on the street which we didn't feel 100% comfortable about doing. Also missing curtains so room was very light in the morning, we also had a missing blind so had to be careful when getting changed. Floor boards aren't the quietest so we could hear upstairs when they came in.
Clean bedding and towels. Room was clean and lots of space. Good hanging space so we didnt have to choose what could be hanged. Tea/coffee facilities ideal and also a fridge so we could store our own stuff in there. Even though the place is outside the city center very good bus routes that run up till midnight, shop, pizza place and other shops near incase you forgot something. Keys were very easy to collect and use. Location was quiet even though there seemed to be alot of traffic around we didn't hear it and we had the windows opened through the night.
