There was a slight smell coming from the downstairs men’s bathroom, possible that they are on a septic tank, but nothing that would affect your stay at all.

Absolutely fantastic food and vast menu, normally with such a large menu you lose quality but not at Ty Gwyn, the food was exceptional for all four of us on both evenings and breakfasts. The hotel itself is superb, like going back in time, I hope they always keep this decor and furniture as this is what gives Ty Gwyn its charm. We had rooms 3 and 6B and they were beautiful and comfortable, both with jacuzzi bath tubs. The lady on reception was very welcoming and really nice to talk to - apologies but we didn’t catch her name. There was also Hilary serving at breakfast and she was absolutely amazing and such good fun.

Having the bathroom separate from the bedroom was a bit uncomfortable, especially at night. But it wasn't a massive problem at all.

The proximity to everything. The staff was always nice and very attentive, and the food was delicious!

    Everything was perfect.

The location was perfect with free on site parking. We received a warm welcome on arrival. Our room was ready for us even though we were two hours early arriving. The room was cosy, warm and very clean. The welsh breakfast was plentiful and very tasty.. Would definitely stay here again. We dined in the hotel and the food was delicious. The menu was huge and varied. It had lots to chose from to meet everyone's taste.

The road outside the window could be a bit noisy at times with cars going past

Good location with friendly staff, we ordered food and drinks in the evening which were all lovely and the bar/restaurant had a cosy homely atmosphere to it. Our room was modern with a newly refurbished bathroom and view of the river. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Due to the location there is limited car parking, meaning if you get there around dinner time, if the hotel is busy or the restaurant as booked out, parking on the main road is the only option.

We had an apartment which was beautifully refitted and done out. It was very comfortable and convenient for exploring north Wales.

There was nothing I disliked about Ty Gwyn and I took it all in as it is meant to be.

Ty Gwyn is a 16th century grade 2 listed building and it has its charm which attracted me to book the rooms. I expected it to be imperfect with its quaint cosiness with some of its original features and some new improvements to the building over the years. Something I had never seen but glad to be able to appreciate this hotel. Very friendly people, lovely breakfast and most delicious dinner. However, the electrics went on the blink on our last night there but the owner was very apologetic and to our surprise, gave us a discount on the hotel bill to compensate us.

The only fault was there was no mirror near a plug to dry your hair and put your make up on. The only mirror was in the bathroom.

The food was very good. Lovely breakfast nicely set out on plate. Comfortable room.

The parking isn’t great, as limited parking spaces. So several cars have to park on the main road. The first allocated room smelled heavily of smoke from old fires, and the tv picture wasn’t great. But the guy on duty soon changed our room.

Quaint and within easy walking distance of the town. Location good for touring around the area.
