For the price you pay you expect a little more. Amenities were missing from the room (comb, toothbrushes and toothpaste) and for the price you expect it to already be in your room. You can request this, but it's an extra step that shouldn't be needed when you're already paying so much for the room itself. These things should come with the room automatically. There is a club or something either within the hotel or nearby and you can hear it until late at night. So keep this in mind when booking this place.

Good hotel with central location. Decent size for a solo traveler and a comfy bed. Great shower facilities too with the ability to sit down in the shower (something I don't see often in a lot of places including a lot of 5 star hotels).

I booked the cheapest room available and it was very small. You don't see the picture of the small rooms on the website so I was expecting something spacious and grand like pictures. Interesting layout of the small room. You walk straight into the dressing room bath area. Anyways it was a lovely hotel. Location is great, short distance from the castle and on the Harry Potter Street. Lots of tourist taking pics.

Perfect location, helpful staff, safe area! We had a great time, stayed 6 nights and took day trips from Edinburgh. So close to all kinds of restaurants and at night it is quiet for sleeping and relaxing!

The shower leaked into the dressing area and the pressure in the shower was a little bit disappointing. The effort made for my husbands 40th was disappointing and nowhere near as good as other hotels of this level we've been in for special occasions.

The room was lovely, the large water in the room was great. The bed was so comfy. The staff were v friendly.

It was so artistic and beautiful and the fact that you could walk in on ground floor but suddenly be on the 6th floor was very fun, the property was beautifully presented, immaculately clean and all round fantastic view of Edinburgh Castle, would 100% like to return

We came for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday and the hotel exceeded expectations. Our room had a view of the castle and whilst it was compact, it had everything we needed and was a good use of space. The bar and team were friendly, helpful and we enjoyed a few evenings sampling the cocktails, people watching and enjoying the atmosphere. Good choice for breakfast although we thought the buffet was a better option than the menu were portions were not as filling as we hoped.

Staff very casual and inexperienced for a higher end hotel / breakfast service extremely poor (waited 15 minutes for a cup of coffee) Paying £100 per night upfront in the event you leave without paying bar bills is very unwelcoming on check in and totally unnecessary to then be told on checkout it takes up to 3 days for it to be refunded !

A little bit too crowded. We had to wait a while for a table. Slow at replenishing food and at serving things like toast. I ordered poached eggs. They came without toast and by the time the toast arrived the eggs were cold and hard. I had assumed toast would come with them but if not then I would expect to be asked if I want toast when ordering eggs; it is unusual for someone to just have eggs on a plate.

I booked this hotel as a present for my partners birthday. We had an exceptional stay. The staff were friendly and extremely attentive. Knowing the occasion, they really went the extra mile. The location couldnt be more ideal and everything from the decore to the facilities were first class. I would recommend staying here if you want to make your trip to Edinburgh extra special.
