Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMartin was a fantastic host very inviting and accommodating. We stayed over the weekend and wanted to go out early each day before breakfast is normally served at the weekend, Martin went out of his way to ensure we had a continental breakfast put outside our room each morning, which was excellent.

United KingdomThis place is what I would call a proper old fashioned B and B. Welcomed by the owner martin who also cooks and serves the food and everything else in between. You are left to your own devices but a good chat was welcomed by both parties. The room was large and the bed was huge with lovely fresh white bedding. Ample storage and a large fridge in the room. Although a pub below there was no noise late at night and I slept fantasticly well. The food was cooked to perfection and martin was happy to get some steak in for my evening meal as I'm very fussy and didnt like the other options. The price is excellent for what you get and I would even suggest martin could charge more. Martin made our stay stress free and relaxed and we can not wait to return.

United KingdomDue to COVID restrictions evening meals had to be pre booked, not a fault of the establishment.
We thought a great example of a typical English Inn, the landlord was welcoming, courteous and accommodating to our needs for early rising and breakfast. Would certainly use again and recommend to friends and family should we be in the area again.

United KingdomCould maybe do with a lick of paint.
It’s a quaint English pub/restaurant with a few guest rooms. Old fashioned, which is what we like. The room had tea/coffee making facilities which (for us) is essential. The host, Martin, was great and took the effort to remember our names. Still operating during the Pandemic, there wasn’t a great menu (nothing for Vegans) but we were still offered a substantial meal and cooked breakfast. There’s a Morrison’s just 2 mins away.

United KingdomWhilst we amired the owners choice to go retro in his style of furnishings in the room, they were somewhat 'tired'. Whilst the food was delicious, most items were either sold out or limited. We shared the last portion of tomato a mozarella salad. Our steaks and vegetables were cooked to perfection, but...frozen chips? How much effort does it take to peel , chop and fry a couple of potatoes? I myself was a chef for 25 years, and I can yell you, it takes minutes. Sorry, but it took the edge off a fine meal. Lastly, the host asked us about breakfast the following morning, and my wife specifically asked for raw tomato. Whilst most apologetic at breakfasrt, the host said he had cooked the last of the tomatoes, so couldn't oblige. I admire his attempt to provide only fresh produce, but carries too little stock to provide the guest with the experience they expect, and even requested. I'm sorry, but the overnight stay was somewhat overpriced compared to other places we have stayed. Also sorry if we sound negative, but the owner did ask for a review, and this is our honest feedack
Very clean. Lovely modern shower room. Comfortable bed. Fridge and water provided. Food was delicious. The host was very pleasant, but could be found as a little 'full on'. Locals in the bar described him as being like Marmite. I happen to like Marmite, but others may not.

United KingdomBedroom too small. Put in the attic because we had a dog. It was very warm up there even with a fan. Carpets were grubby throughout but they had been hoovered. Needs updating and outside area needs some TLC.
When we finally found out how to get in, host was very welcoming and helpful. He wasn’t expecting us at 3pm so had to go and get the room ready.

SpainThis is not a hotel or the welcoming inn with great beers and restaurant we thought we had booked. We arrived and the pub was shut As it is every Monday and Tuesday. There was no food available as food is only served Thursday to Sunday. This is not mentioned on the website nor in the booking details. The owner said I had booked a bed and breakfast only deal and I should have known everything was shut. I have checked your site many times to see if I missed something but I don’t see how I could have known and feel I have been misled by both the pub and Booking.com. Also there a fixed charge of £12 per dog also not mentioned on the site.
Breakfast as advertised was very good

United KingdomRoom was very small with restricted height in both the room and ensuite, which we weren't informed of. Bed was very uncomfortable. For the price paid (£100), we were very disappointed, when you pay less at Premier Inn and get far better comfort.
Our Host Martin was very friendly and hospitable. He literally run's the place himself, so probably works 7 days a week. Very nice Breakfast.

United KingdomLack of choice meals. The rooms were too hot for us first night had trouble sleeping we sorted the radiators out slept better the next night.
Breakfast was good the sausages were cooked but needed browning off. Evening meal was good but not a lot if choice. No menu’s or specials board. Did not offer any sweets but he made me some crapes served with ice cream. The were beautiful. I think they are struggling because of Covid. Quirky place to stay.
