The locking system had the lock from within function disabled and they said it was a fire safety thing. I've been to many hotels and this is the first hotel that I haven't been able to put an extra lock on the door at night The rooms were dated and a bit tired. The room I booked for my brother and his partner had the leather headboard cracked and flaking off. The hotel did not seem busy at all and we were 2 hours early but they wouldn't let us check in yet. The people working reception were dismissive and not very informative when asking questions. I would not stay here again and that's the first time I've said that about any hotel on Booking.com

The rooms were clean and it was a place to stay. They had coffee in the room which was nice because the last two hotels we stayed in did not.

Dated furnishings. Ancient carpet and musty smell. Very hot room. Very uncomfortable bed and bedding. Staff helped me look through bedding for more comfortable pillows.. unfortunately all looked like they were the original bedding from the 80s and had all of the softness washed out of them over the years!

Ideal location.. staff very friendly and helpful. Staff very happy to assist.. couldn’t praise the night manager enough. Much cheaper than other options in the area. Plenty of free parking.

Initially we were disappointed that the restaurant was not open in the evening we arrived and we were not informed but Jamie pointed us in the direction of food outlets and said if we wanted to bring back our takeaway he would provide plates and cutlery which he did . When we finished he cleared up all the rubbish so nothing was too much much trouble .

Good quality breakfast , friendly staff ,really accommodating , seems like Jamie was doing everything .

The restaurant was closed because of lack of guests. I had to go to a fish and chip shop to get something to eat.

It is a older hotel and was ok.

There was a huge cobweb in the toilet which was clearly months old. It was way too hot in the room. There was inadequate lighting, the room was very dark, this made it extremely difficult to be able to do my makeup and hair. Limited number of electrical sockets for hairdryer, straighteners, phone chargers etc. The pillows were very hard.

It was close to the location of a celebration that we were attending and close to the shopping village

On entering the building, it smells like something passed away a long time ago and it is hidden under the floorboards. We genuinely had to hold.our breathe in reception area but the smell.didnt seem to follow us up to the rooms. The decoration of the building with exception of the room were likely decorated in the 80's

The beds were comfy and the rooms were a great size. We have a triple and we had plenty of room. Staff were lovely

Very quiet therefore restaurant was not available for dinner. It was not a problem for us plenty of places around area. Carpets in some areas very tired and worn. Rooms very hot (luckily able to open windows)

Staff very helpful and friendly. Bedroom and bathroom clean, good to have separate toilet from main bathroom. Breakfast very good, freshly cooked. Good location

It could do with a lick of paint here and there also the windows need updating as the view from outside gives a bad impression at first. Cleaners - kettle still had water in from previous use. Only one toilet roll provided all weekend. Also the Sunday morning fire alarm at 7am got me up earlier than planed as could not get back to sleep so and checked out at 8am

Location was good and had everything I needed. Large breakfast choice and was delicious. New carpet in room. Comfy bed.

Pillows, far to hard, even with 3 or more, couldn't get comfortable, beds standard, windows on outside needed cleaning very dusty covered in dirt. Television needs replacing, poor reception, only 2 channels worked. Kettles needs descaling, bath mats needs replacing , very dirty on back of them , bath plugholes needs cleaning , net curtains needed at large windows, people passing by can see straight in , shops across road can also see in, didn't understand why there was no net curtains or blinds as well with the actual curtains at front rooms of hotel looking out at the road and carpark. Decor standard.

Very friendly, big enough room, situated in a good place , breakfast excellent
