The older rooms and carpets are in need of refurbishment, no USB points for chargers. Hallways were in need of deep vacuum.

Location was great, food was wonderful. Rooms in the newer part are much nicer.

No real beer on tap in the bar!

The on site parking was great, right in the centre of Salisbury we were not expecting it to be so easy to locate and get parked. Hotel had been sympathetically updated losing none of its old charm

The car park was being used by contractors building at one side of the property. Whilst some changes were essential, and much was done to alleviate the situation, I felt the instructions given by the hotel could have been just a little clearer. Not a complaint, just something that might improve the situation for future guests, especially if they're travelling from overseas.

The room was comfortable and quiet. Probably the best sleep we've had in a while for a hotel. The staff were all helpful, in particular Kelly was excellent. My wife has particular dietary needs and Kelly ensured these were met, which made our meals very enjoyable.

Normal secondary pillow. The chair had been sat on by an elephant hence the massive dimple. NO RADIO 3 TO LISTEN IN THE MORNINGS. Could not operate the dreadful air conditioning system. The restaurant evening staff need to be a bit more 'with it'.

Nearly all was good especially the sun coming in. The breakfast was enjoyable although the porridge I reckon was from an instant packet. Location was ideal because of the two locations I visited. The room and bathroom were very good. Good honest food.

We were only given one flat pillow each. Not sure if this was a mistake from house keeping but I didn’t sleep comfortably.

Sharon in reception was so lovely. I called in the morning on the day to request an early check in, and she upgraded our room for us. I also loved that it was dog friendly.

Taste of machine coffee with milk at breakfast; sorted by choosing black and using normal milk there for tea Awkward step up to step in shower in second of two bedrooms we used

Helpfulness of staff all round and especially when I was not sure how long we would need or be able to stay (staying to support a family member in Salisbury hospital) and had to change rooms Excellent position for visiting Salisbury centre and the hospital by car or bus Generally good cooked breakfast Evening meals were generally tasty and choice was varied, allowing for say two starters instead of starter and main Comfy bed Walk in shower My husband was only there part of the time so I was pleased to find the hotel very safe and easy when alone Being left in peace in the lounge

No food served after 7pm due to another function in hotel . We weere not notified of this .Left with no option for food. By the time we wanted food it was too late to find a table in town and we were not notified the kitchen would not serve us . Attitude of staff at the bar..we were asked to vacate the area we were in for another party .shoved to the corner of the room in a circle of chairs. No option to sit in lounge as it was full of guests from the other party . When we asked for a glass of wine were told it was only by the bottle .when we explained the previous bar person had sold it by the glass ..they said "not again!!" Not very customer friendly . Reception staff were lovely however and breakfast staff very accommodating Lounge area is shabby and tired .for the price of the room ..the hotel decor let's it down .what could be a beautiful hotel in a lovely building ..the decor let's it down and breakfast room was municipal to say the least .

The bar staff were not very friendly, and made you feel that they didn’t want to be serving you and couldn’t wait to get out the door. Closing down shutters etc far earlier than necessary for the bar closing time. Made us feel quite unwelcome. This was the only bit of our stay that was not so good. The bathroom was very small and cramped although it had everything in it and was clean. The shower wash was empty, but when I told reception they got it filled immediately. Unfortunately whoever did it, didn’t put the pump back on the right way round and we had to take it apart and put it back together so the soap didn’t shoot all over the tiles. Bit annoying but not a game changer.

Breakfast was very good. The staff member was very chirpy and friendly. Reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The outside area looked very quaint. (Unfortunately we didn’t go out there as it was raining, but can imagine it would be lovely in the warmer weather.) We liked that the parking was at the rear and it was simple to use. The location was very central and perfect for what we wanted to do. The bed was extremely comfortable. Coffee and tea replenished every day. Very clean.
