Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAlthough fairly new, batteries in blind remote and thermostat should be checked / renewed. Doors and bathroom shelf need slight adjustments.
Fresh and clean, comfortable bed and good ensuite. Views are amazing. Good to have the pub next door.

United KingdomOur room was pretty basic and faced directly onto the car park, so didn't feel private and had to keep blinds closed in daylight, which was a pity as the sun was shining. Bathroom door has a strange sliding mechanism, difficult to keep shut and kept coming away from floor fixing and swinging open. It took time to work it out.
Very comfortable bed, easy wifi access and tv. Very quiet despite overlooking the car park and pretty surroundings. Staff very friendly and helpful. Basic tea and coffee facilities and real milk and chilled drinking water provided on arrival. Dinner was delicious and reasonably priced and there was a warm and friendly atmosphere in the bar. We were made to feel very welcome. Very convenient for visiting Cotehele house.and the 13th century local church of St Dominick is worth a detour.

United KingdomIt was very cold in the room at first as the heating wasn’t on and it took a long time to heat up , I had to keep my coat on for 2 hours and the radiator in the bathroom doesn’t work
The rooms are nice and the food in the pub is always very good

United KingdomStaff could have talked us through some of the things outlined in the welcome document eg departure procedures. We were given a pot of milk for our tea, but by the morning didn’t trust it enough to have a drink, perhaps UHT would be better in the rooms?
Handy location Individual access to the property. Comfortable bed New facilities (eg bathroom) Dogs are able to stay at £10 a dog which was fantastic.

United KingdomMy only suggestion would be a mini fridge wouldnt go a miss. Am looking to return in the summer but would have to bring a cool box to be able to have cold drink & keep milk fresh.
Very clean & well laid out. Could park the car close to the room. Little inclosed garden was a god send, meant i could just let dog out first thing. Rather than having to go for a walk across the carpark in my Pjs

United Kingdom2 minor details - the conditioner in the shower has solidified so will not come out the pump (just needs changing!) - the pillows are incredibly lumpy (shame as the bed is super comfy!!)
The location is stunning with wonderfully friendly staff and brilliant food. As someone travelling by themselves for work I love being in a pub with the locals as it provides such a lovely atmosphere. The room itself is a fantastic size and has all the facilities you need, the gated area out the front would be super if you had a dog along for the trip! Will certainly be staying again

United KingdomRoom off the carpark was a bit on the smaller side and thought that the noise from the road came through the windows but after 10pm the road is so quiet it didn't matter and for the price I paid I couldn't complain.
lovely inn, just in the right location for what I needed. Staff were lovely and friendly, I was the only guest and dinner and breakfast were tasty and I was made to feel welcome.

United KingdomWalls of the bedroom were very thin. I could hear every word from the couple in the next room (and told them so,) talking and coughing long after I wanted to go to sleep. Room was quite small. Adequate to sleep in but no room to work.
High quality local ingredients, cooked and served just right. Attractive location with a view of the Tamar Valley.

United KingdomHeater didn't work properly. No shelf in shower to put shower gel/shampoo. Have to pick up off floor. Late night noise from next room.
Overall I liked the room. Although basic it was fine for me. The bed filled up the whole room and there were no comfy chairs to sit in and watch the television. Basically you had to lie on the bed to be able to watch the TV. The shower was very good within a small bathroom. My only problem was being disturbed late at night by people in the adjoining room. ?? soundproofing poor. Have always loved the pub over many years.

United KingdomThe first night evening meal was OK But not the best. Starter was abysmal parsnip was none.. Again, there are such small microscopic servings. Steak was very fatty chips where hard in the middle. But it was my own fault after a 7-hour drive we were hungry. Breakfast was another lever bacon that was solid sausages cold. Didn't have breakfast again Last night there we had another meal of which was amazing 👏 As there was a different chef 👩🍳 The room was OK. But for a dog friendly hotel, there were no rubbish bins anywhere.
Staff were so helpful and always on hand to ask questions. Nice room, very warm, good shower Good local beer

Great friendly pub. Thankfully not a fake pub with rooms, just a real proper drinking pub! Friendly welcome and people behind the bar with personality. The food was outstanding especially the scallops and King prawns starters. Unlikely to be in that area again, but stay there again if we were.
