Bed was a little hard for my husband, who has joint problems. Restaurant was a disappointment, had nothing hardly left on the menu, carpet needed cleaning, too much food on the floor under our table to be ignored.

The Facilities were brilliant. Room wasn’t too far or up any stairs. Grounds looked lovely. Staff were lovely.

This is all relatively minor, so don't be put off, it is in the spirit of driving improvement. TV reception was a bit sporadic at times (terrestrial reception) & wifi in room e.g. for catch up was somewhat unreliable even for low resolution iplayer. Managed to work around this with a mobile hotspot. Some noise from gym glass reached the room on Friday afternoon/early evening, but not noticed at other times, no big deal. A few machines in the gym require sign in or using a guest USB before they can be put into use - not a criticism of this venue in particular but of the idea in general having to sign in and out of machines before being able to get on with an exercise.

Fantastic pool & spa facilities, a gem, even if like us you have no interest/desire to play golf. Room was a generous size & well decorated; Very handy to have a bistro/restaurant on site, after a day walking and then a session in the pool/spa, one does not feel like driving out for a few miles to try and find dinner.

The rooms are a Bit tired in places. Bath panels warped, doors delaminating bathroom work tops. Had a hole/rip in bedroom carpet. We friends staying and both their room were the same.

Do not recommend half board , the food and restaurant service in the hotel leaves a lot to be desired 😞 Have breakfast and main meals in the golf clubhouse 👍

Room was missing hooks for coats and there was only one chair in the room.

Rooms very clean and more comfortable than expected. Asked for, and got, a nice view. Beds comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Vegetarian version of English breakfast a nice touch. Good to see fruit salad and better bread for breakfast. Restaurant was fine for evening meal - but perhaps not for a special dinner. Interesting veggie choices. Friendly service.

I had the nearest room to reception area and could be quite noisy with people passing through that area.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Car parking was good at no extra cost. Room was nice and clean and excellent facilities on site. Enjoyed the stay very much.

Genuinely the best place we've stayed at without considering the price. We've stayed at places twice the price and this place is better. We have friends in Exeter and we will be staying here every time we visit. Massive pool with plenty of lanes. Plenty of space, there's a bar/lounge and a golf club restaurant next door which was amazing.

my room faced the atrium so I had to look out of the window into the dining and public area. I couldn’t really open the window blinds.

the property was set in the countryside with plenty of trees and flowers. it was peaceful. the swimming pool and spa were clean and well equipped.

Room stuffy, no outside ventilation (looked out onto indoor space). I was aware of this at booking but didn’t appreciate the implications of not having an outside window/fresh air. I would request an outside facing window if I was to return. An unusual arrangement.

The only downside to our stay was our room could do with updating as the carpet was badly marked and the bathroom had seen better days. We also booked this hotel as it showed two proper chairs in the room, but there was only one when we arrived and asked for another one as both my husband and myself suffer from bad backs.

The hotel is in a nice quiet location with stunning scenery. We had a meal overlooking the golf course, which was lovely. The staff were very helpful and polite.

Whatever came out of the kitchen & menu choice. Breakfast was fine, a good selection if you did not want continental. The waits between ordering and serving were ridiculously long. Paying for Dinner, bed & breakfast was a con. A different shorter menu which made a 4 night stay boring especially when food inedible. Who puts rocket ON TOP of a hot fishcake? The swimming pool was disappointing due to the huge area the steps took up. I am sure the semi circle could be redesigned to allow more swim area and therefore less likely to cause damage to the swimmer.

The staff I met were are very helpful & considerate. The premises were clean & tidy. My room was exactly what I hoped for, quiet, warm and clean. If I stayed again I would request same room The wet changing room was kept clean & tidy. The costume spinner a bonus, well done.
