Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had to use an NCP car park, which although we received discount cards from the hotel, was still expensive and quite far away. Our room was great but next to the lifts, which were very squeaky and prone to wake us up.
Our room was clean, had air conditioning, mood lighting and an electric bed. The shower was powerful and hot. It was easy to access local restaurants and places of interes.

RomaniaThe air-conditioning: it constantly was working and the draft bothered us - The toilet didn't get you much privacy - The window was sealed and there was no option of opening it.
The location is about 15 min easy walk to the Old Town and closer to the shopping streets and Dean Village. - The staff was helpful and you have complementary coffee water and tea in the lobby - They kept our luggage for a couple of hours after the check-out without any charge which was a big plus for us - The bed was really nice because it had an automatic recliner which made it more comfortable - The tv had the option to cast from your phone through Chromecast

United KingdomThe hotel details said that you could park outside the hotel to load / unload. You could, but it was on a busy road and I am not sure that it would be legal. The actual car park was not near the hotel. It was difficult to find if you did not know Edinburgh; and it was 15 minute walks back to the hotel.
A good basic Premiere Inn type hotel.

IrelandBreakfast area was quite crowded and some had to take breakfast out to the bar or back to your room.
The room is very pod-like. The facilities are good although the room is small so the bed (motorised) retracts to create more space (quite clever). Self-service check-in/check-out (you create your own room key) is very convenient although there are staff on hand if you need help. It also has a nice bar.

GermanyThe only downside of the room is there was no desk and no bright light - when I had an unexpected work meeting I realised it wasn’t easy to work from the room
Excellent location and very helpful and friendly staff. Modern room and stylish common areas. Bar area was great with a good choice of drinks. Although we didn’t have breakfast you could help yourself to coffee whenever. Bed was large and comfortable

United KingdomVery busy breakfast surroundings, probably due to small breakfast area with many seats bunched together. Difficult to fully relax in such settings and feeling rushed (even when there was no rush/pressure whatsoever from the staff). Very white room and furniture, giving the impression of an almost antiseptic environment: excellent in terms of cleanliness, however did not come with an homely/relaxing atmosphere, at least for me.
Perfect central location, 5 minutes walk from west end of Princes Street Excellent cooked breakfast, with good non diary options made available Price Easy self check in procedure

United KingdomShower door did not shut so water leaked from under it and made floor wet so we had very wet towels trying to mop it up. No drink making facilities in room but free hot drinks machine and fresh cold water downstairs in lobby. Polite and helpful staff.
Comfortable reclining beds and good hot showers. Warm room - and was a cold week. Good sound proofing so had no noise from adjoining rooms. Plenty of storage space - hairdryer and ironing board and tv. Great location for centre of Edinburgh- all in walking distance (if you are active - Edinburgh is on a hill!)
