Location for York centre was brilliant

However there were some things that we noted during our stay. There were no teaspoons for the drinks in the morning just one stirrer which was fine but perhaps a spoon would be better fitted. Also there was no coffee just tea which for someone who likes a morning coffee would’ve been a lovely additional touch. Our check out times were also a bit confusing. I received an email telling me that checkout was 10 o clock however on the booking.com page it told me 10:30-11:00 however this wasn’t an issue as we left at 10 so nothing major just something to notify the owner of.

Got to the hotel and had an easy check in once I retrieved our key. Our room was on the top floor and had a great view overlooking some modern apartments and a busy beer garden. The room itself was very spacious and had all the essentials needed such as hairdryer, lots of sockets, kettle and even a makeup dresser. Best of all, the bed itself was amazing! We had the best night sleep here and would love to know where that mattress is from!

Unbeatable position & value for money. The room itself was basic but perfectly adequate for a short stay. Met the owner, Karen, upon check-in and she was kind enough to let me leave the bags at the property for a few hours after check-out (no extra charge). Had a great couple of night’s sleep - comfy bed and quiet room at the back of the property. Would definitely recommend & stay again.

The only very small thing was how noisy the toilet was. You couldn't flush at night without waking the whole house! Apart from that everything was fine.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee were available in the room when we arrived and then always refillable any time of day from downstairs. The bed was very comfy and the shower was very nice.

Perfectly located, room was spacious and well appointed. Was a little tired in some areas but not enough to spoil anything about the visit. It is in perfect walking distance to everything you’d wish to see in York. The host was prompt with communication and very kind, a lovely stay!

Situated on a very busy road. Access because of stairs might prove difficult for those with mobility issues. There were no clear instructions with regard to the heating of the room.

The location was excellent for visiting many of the places of interest in York especially the Minster. The room was comfortable with a warm shower. The Host was friendly and obliging.

A few bits need freshening up/fixing- example- I put my towel on the hook in the bathroom and the hook fell out of the wall. All being said, it wouldn’t put me off staying again

The property is located next to a busy street. The area was a bit noisy even at midnight.

The room was clean, spacious, and well-furnished. The process of checking-in and checking-out was smooth. The property is located near tourist attractions in York.

Had problems initially in getting into the hub although we had a code and door number it wasn’t explained how we got the key to get into the hub although the owner helped us locate the key once we contacted her and was very helpful and prompt to help us resolve this

The Location was excellent everywhere was accessible by foot within the City walls which is a few moments walk from the hub. The hub room was extremely clean and comfortable so all in all a very good choice to stay and would recommend it.

The only downside is the traffic noise as Gillygate is a very busy road.

Location Location Location! Literally 2 minutes to York Minster. Arrival even without a reception was easy. Lovely room with large double bed and everything you need. Would definitely return for a short break.

Everything was as expected so don't have any complaints. There were minor cosmetic marks, chips to paint work etc but certainly nothing to put anyone off. Be aware parking on Union Terrace is £20 a day and you need the Pay by Phone app.

The location on Gillygate is minutes walk away from the centre of York (turn right when leaving the property). There are plenty of local pubs and restaurants within seconds of the front door. Karen the host was very helpful in dealing with queries and request so don't be afraid to ask. The room was comfortable and served us for what we needed for a short stay and competitively priced for the area. Would use again.

Road was noisy most of the time but that’s due to the fantastic location. Parking in York is VERY expensive. £68 for 2 nights. Mattress not overly comfortable.

Location excellent. Very easy to get in despite no reception staff. Plenty of hanging space. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. Extra pillows available. Noticed hairdryer and fan too. Adequate lighting and seating. No disturbances at all from other guests. Wonderfully high ceilings, bright and airy room.

How to get in. Staircase door right on to the street. Had to leave my suitcase on the pavement while figuring it out.

Nice little room with en-suite bathroom clean and comfortable Plenty of teabags sugar etc for drinks in the room (usually only get enough for one drink in other places that we have stayed in !) Central to York so just a few minutes walk to everything basically Great stay for a weekend break and would definitely stay again

Water system bit noisy and cold tap pressure not ideal. Had to remove shower tray drain cover and filter to prevent tray from overflowing to enable waste water to drain faster.

We had a bad water leak from upstairs room through bathroom ceiling. Although Karen came around within half an hour with towels etc for floor and arranged to have it fixed, it was very inconvenient as we could not have a shower that evening or until much later the next morning. We feel that we should be compensated to some degree for the inconvenience .
