The loud music from across the streets could be a nuisance to sleep sometimes

A bit concerned about the bathroom window. It didn’t lick in the inside and could be opened from the outside so I was a bit worried about security.

Villa 9 did not have wifi access, the AC did not work, and the fridge wouldn’t close properly

We stayed in two different Villas. Both were similar levels of cleanliness and quietude. However, Villa 16 had good amenities and villa 9 did.

No TV in the room and given the amount we paid, this was an expecttaion. Room was also smaller than expected. Re the self catering, very little cutlery and plates to use

If you book at the top in the apartments, expect loud music from a bar called GTS. It played loud music until 5am, most nights. I can sleep through most things, but this was too much. It ruined my holiday for 4 nights, until I paid for an upgrade to move. I think this is with thinking about before you book. If you want to go bed and sleep without noise, you’ve not a chance. The villas towards the beach though, perfection.

I’ve been coming to the Gambia for 20 years, so I’ll leave an honest review. Kololi is pretty much the best place to stay in area, clean, tidy, staff are fantastic and the location is perfect. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Great location right in center of tourist area. Beautiful resort - the buildings and property were very nice. Security out front 24/7. Great restaurant on the beach, and very nice swimming pools. Helpful staff.

Noise went on until around 5am so no sleep beds not overly comfortable, meal in restaurant was overcooked and not nice, beach service during the day non existent, didn't like the smoking pipes while people were eating should be a separate area. On the whole resort not as good as it used to be.

The staff in the restaurant are amazing always friendly and happy to help.

I didn't like when you order something at the restaurant they asked for your room nr and when I paid my bill and left the resturant the bill was not registered as paid and when I checked out,all of a sudden I had unpaid bills according to them whilst I had already paid it, so a tip to others: Keep all your receipts. But it got sorted out in the end but that was a bit of a bummer.Apart from that, it's a lovely place and I will return

I don't know if the owner or manager reads guest reviews, and if he does, why doesn't he draw conclusions? Guests mainly complain about street noise, poor internet and staff. We lived by the beach, so we had silence, but other complaints I have to confirm. For 1.5 days the wifi didn't work at all, then it got better, but sometimes it was gone for a few hours. The ladies at the reception are unsympathetic, cleaning is too rare (if you have a kitchen in the apartment and you cook, throwing out the garbage once every 3-4 days is far too rare). There is no staff on the beach at 9am. Of the three pools promised, one is not working and the other is microscopic. The third is ok. There were cockroaches in the kitchen, we killed 10 or more on the first day. Yuck.

Very nice hotel, large area, lush and well-kept garden. We stayed in a bungalow by the beach, so it was a 2 minute walk to the ocean. Very clean. Nice beach with free sunbeds. There are a lot of restaurants and bars around, there are also a few shops and a fruit stall.

There was not much I did not like about the property.

The property was located across the convention centre, had 3 pools and a beach access with a restaurant on the beach. Air conditioned rooms were really great. Staff were excellent, friendly and went the extra mile.

The breakfast location is too far from guest rooms. Shower could be much modernised and needs space. No TV in bedroom.

The room size was adequate. AC was very good and kitchen facilities were in top condition. Very nice and spacious balcony with great view. Very good security service and wonderful reception at the front. Always happy to help and answer questions. Ida and Haddy were fantastic.

I didn't like the shower in the room. No shower tray. It is unfinished, a missing row of tiles. Walking down the strip, the constant hassle you get from the Gambian men is off putting. They have what I call a certain chat up line" They start chatting to you friendly, then they might give you a gift then they ask you to give them something from your heart i.e. money! Not a good look for a country that survives on the tourists coming to inject money into the country.

The location is good to access the beach and restaurants on the strip. The restaurant is very good, not sure if they are over priced, but the meals are freshly cooked and the service is very quick. The staff are friendly and polite.

No internet in the rooms during the whole stay despite repeated reminders at reception. Management who are visible and smiling friendly but not dealing with questions and problems faced by guests. The property is run mainly for the benefit of members, paying guests appear to be mainly an additional money maker.

A bar across the street has a license to have live music till very late. Not the fault of Kololi (they were there first), but in practice, one side of the building suffers from a lot of noise (and so do the other hotels in the neighborhood, I guess). Staff was very friendly and did their best to move us to another, more quit, location immediately (again, many thanks). But in practice, Kololi can not really rent these rooms out anymore and shouldn't. Further, and we get to the really minor stuff, the shower doors are not well designed or put in place. As we were in two similar rooms (a noisy one and a quit one), we could compare, and they both had the same problem of not smoothly closing on one side. Also the same problem in both rooms was a little musty smell. With the use of the room you didn't notice in practice, but a good look at the airco for instance will probably fix this.

The staff was amazing. Friendly, helpful, really, nothing we could have wished for more. Also very nice pool and very clean and good restaurant. We trusted this restaurant completely. Kololi beach tried to have some kind of activity every day, which is commendable. Location for us was excellent except for the bar across the street (see negative comments). We loved Kololi so much we will definitely be back and hope to great the same staff again.
