Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast was very basic and no water was provided in the rooms. Even when we requested water it was declined.
The staff were very friendly. Alima and Musa in reception are an asset to the hotel.

TanzaniaThey could provide better omelette and fruits. Staff priority is more toward themselves than the customers. My colleague was attacked by a bumster on the beach and the guard kept watching from far with no assistance. Later, as we went up the hotel, he came to gossip about the situation. His presence itself during the situation could have resolved the matter.
The location is perfect for me.

United KingdomFull-body massage wasn't great and slightly more expensive than local 4 and 5* hotels. Breakfast is passable, it is a 2* complex.
Very happy with large room, ensuite bathroom is very good; great hot shower. Very good aircon. No toiletries are provided, merely towels & toilet roll. Worktop sized fridges are rentable (£4.60/day) as are safe boxes (located by reception). UK 3-pin plugs (2 of) in my room. Full sized snooker, pool and ping pong tables with TV in large lounge area to watch rugby (& football). Wifi accessible in my room (106) and on beach at 1.8Mbps; I was able to stream (UK TV, YouTube etc) from the beach. Useful and reasonably priced supermarkets 18-20mins walk away. ATM within 10mins walk along the beach (D200 charge). Almost all restaurants only accept cash. Provided entertainment brings guests together several times a day, especially in the evenings with live local bands/groups, 6 out of 7 nights. Unpretentious atmosphere around the pool and beach areas. Food around the pool & beach area is very good, more akin to 3*+. Expect to pay £7-£10 for a meal with drinks. Jet ski, quad bike and SUP hire available down the beach past Solomons. Bike hire 5mins walk back towards the main road (paid D500 for 24hrs). Mangroves out the front allow sunrise birdwatchers and yogis a true delight for the eyes, ears, body & mind. Hotel management are a true blessing to this complex and often available to receive comments and feedback, do not allow any troubles to fester, speak with the management and enjoy your stay.

NetherlandsWiFi barely worked. The breakfast was very mediocre. The staff made a fuss about many small things and they weren't helpful at all. For example when I invited a friend they were making a problem even though I had booked a room for 2 people. Also the staff in the restaurant are not observant at all and even ignored me talking to them several times in a row which made me leave the restaurant and never come back. Furthermore; this is not a place for young people. It's filled with 70+ geezers who are there on group tour. So don't expect anyone of young age. The rooms barely had WiFi and everything inside the rooms looks old and decrepit. The plugs in the wall don't work properly with European chargers either and many more things. ...
The hotel itself is fine, yet heavily overpriced. Some of the staff were helpful and nice and the manager was a decent bloke. The shower was nice and the atmosphere and the live band was also quite relaxing.

SpainPayment in cash only was somewhat unusual, would have preferred to settle with card. The breakfast was adequate at best, not a great deal of choice. Hotel is slightly 'dated' - but represents fair value for money at this price point.
Well situated in Kotu almost on the beach. Rooms were of a good size and had A/C & beds were comfortable. Breakfast available from 7,00am which was important for us because we were out on bird watching tours each morning at 7,30. WiFi fast at bar / reception area

IcelandThe rooms are not as nice as the pictures, and they only have WiFi by the pool and reception but not in the rooms. We booked a superior room but they offered to move us to a standard room by the pool so we could reach the WiFi connection. To us it was important to have WiFi in the rooms when we came home from long days and wanted to reach out to friends and family. To my surprise, the standard room we got which was technically a downgrade, was actually nicer than the superior room, same size but fresher. The only difference to the superior room was that it had beach view. The superior was also further away from the reception, quite a walk from it, and there was no fridge, lock or even a phone in the rooms to call reception. The rooms are very very basic.
It is a decent hotel, and good value for money if you are traveling on budget. They have a nice pool area and are not too far away from Senegambia where you can find lots of bars, restaurants, a craft market and some shops with local crafts. They had a nice breakfast buffet in the mornings.
