Nice but not as luxurious as I'd hoped...

In my opinion the complex lacked that luxury touch, which I found disappointing. It was a family break after a bereavement and the idea of staying in a luxury suite is what sold it to me. On arrival the suite for 4 was not dressed for 4 so we had to ask for additional towels, robes and slippers. There was a choice of A la Carte (at the luxury suites) or buffet breakfast (at the main hotel site). We tried A la Carte on our first morning. We ordered Eggs Benedict croissant. We got a cold croissant with an egg and some mega hard cubes of avacado inside. There was no sauce, it was cold and dry. We didn't eat there again. The next morning we tried the buffet breakfast. Breakfast was from 08.00 but staff were still setting up at 08.30 when guests were sitting waiting to get breakfast. There was more choice but the quality of food was average and what should have been hot was cold. We only ate dinner, at the hotel, on our first night and we were not impressed. Most of the staff were fairly young and the ones we spoke to were students on a working break from their studies. I don't have a problem with this but they didn't seem to know what they were doing. We had to request our room be cleaned, our towels changed, the bed linen changed. It was hot!! The cleaners would then ask US if we want the floors mopping?!? One day they only came to collect rubbish from the bin and said they couldn't clean the room because it was the end of their shift at 15:30. I'm happy for students to get work experience but not at my expense, especially when I am sold a luxury break and end up receiving average. All they needed was proper training beforehand or be allocated to work at the luxury suites according to their experience. Having said this, the staff were all very polite. If these issues were addressed and resolved , I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely stunning view from our infinity pool suite. (It's actually a plunge pool, as it's not deep enough or big enough to swim in, but sufficient to cool off). The suite was comfy with enough space for 4 adults and having the private outside space was a plus. The location is peaceful and just what we needed. There is a bus stop just up the road that goes into Lindos or Rhodes Town, which was handy. Haraki Beach is also a short walk away and there are lots of restaurants to eat from there. Prices are reasonable and the food)service is good.

    Superb quiet Rhodes wacation

    • Junior Suite with Private Panoramic Pool
    • Stayed 14 nights

The only downside is the WiFi. Well, it wasn't really a downside for me because it provided an excellent excuse NOT to do some semi-emergency work related things. For emergencies I went to the beach restaurant that is also a part of the accommodation where it's much better; ping is still about 50ms, which can't be helped since you're on an island, but UL and DL were good once it got going and the signal was stable. However, if you're the kind of person that absolutely needs stable WiFi signal in their room, you're going to have problems. Still, for me, this doesn't reduce the overall score; I'd give them 11/10 if I could.

This is a really excellent choice if you wish to visit Rhodes and prefer not to stay in one of the touristy hot spots but still want to visit them. A really nice and quiet village that will allow you to rest with a really good car hire just across the street (no dealing with the security deposits). As for the accommodation, it was exactly what we wanted and more. Lots of pools to choose from, very friendly and helpful staff (my GF is allergic to some foods and the head chef personally brought her a plate when one of the dishes that she could eat was refilled at the buffet, the waiters and reception workers were also very quick, kind and helpful with tips, reservations and advice, plus a shout out to the cleaning lady and the pool cleaner for doing a superb job) that very quickly remembered our room number and drink preferences. AC is free and working. The bed was really comfortable, a really beautiful shower with hot water and a view was really excellent. The breakfast and dinner are basically an all you can eat buffet with a great variety of dishes so I really recommend you do reserve with a half-board, especially if you, like us, are a sucker for buffets. Breakfast always had a wide variety of eggs, cold cuts, vegetables, fruits and freshly made pancakes and waffles (and donuts, brownies, spreads etc) to choose from (plus the sunny side ups are made on the spot so they're not the usual sad cold variety that comes from the kitchen 50m away), but what really took the cake was the dinner; they have thematic dinners so the options change every day (think Mexican, Greek, sea food etc. evenings so you won't get bored with repeating options). It was so good that I'm actually afraid of the scales, I estimete I gained at least 5kg in 14 days.

My stay at Alia Luxury Suites and Spa from July 22nd to July 27th, 2023, was an experience marked by negligence, dishonesty, and unethical behavior that I feel compelled to share: Payment Issues and Safety Concerns: The troubles began during check-in when the hotel staff refused to provide a payment receipt for the cash balance we paid, despite our request. Adding to the distress, a government alert prompted an evacuation due to nearby wildfires. Shockingly, the staff (following the owner’s orders) disregarded this warning and dismissed guest safety, leaving us to fend for ourselves. Our decision to leave the area for our safety was met with no support or concern from the hotel staff. Force Majeure and refund refusal: We decided to leave the island on July 24th due to the increasing proximity of the fire. Upon check-out, we expected some relief, but that was far from the case. Despite our situation falling under the force majeure clauses of booking.com, the hotel refused to refund the three nights we hadn't stayed. They also withheld an invoice, which is a basic requirement for any legitimate establishment. After persisting, we managed to obtain a receipt, only to discover later that the hotel had cancelled our reservation and marked us as a no-show in booking.com'system, likely attempting to manipulate the situation and avoid liability. This unethical move casts serious doubt on their integrity and raises questions about their standing on a trusted booking platform. Fraudulent Actions and Deceptive Practises: After extensive discussions with booking.com, we were able to secure our rightful refunds. However, the hotel's unethical conduct didn't stop there. They charged us for the three nights again, this time through another company, www.algoos.com, which appears to be linked to them through shared addresses and personnel connections.

I emailed the provided email address a few times to no response. Was told that the manager would come to me, she didn't. On check in I was charged 100% despite having paid 50% already. I provided proof to the lovely young women working and we sorted how much was left to pay. I quickly returned to reception for towels to be told there weren't any but I'd get some the following day. I met a couple who were leaving after 5 days and never got towels. I had to return to reception at night for a bed sheet (duvet). I moved the beds downstairs which revealed a lot of dirt and children's toys, the main issue being that was never cleaned despite when visible. I booked a suite with a private pool, it's shared with the next door suite, not private. We were given previous guests towels in the following days, old stained football towels. And then finally a full set of shower and pool towels. During my stay I received an email from booking.com being charged 100% again. When at reception a couple were being charged 100% despite having paid 50% and I was told their situation was different to my check in, turned out to be the same. On the penultimate day the property cancelled my booking. I lost out on travel credits and an opportunity to write this. Numerous phone calls later to booking.com and that's rectified. The manager did not come and see me as promised. The managers father couldn't understand what the issue was. Easy enough to enjoy there but it's not luxury which is what the advert states, it's worth knowing before spending the money.

Pretty complex. Good location, two minutes walk to bars and restaurants and a short walk to a very nice beach. Use of the other hotel complex pools is nice. The pools are nice.

Answered any question and helped with different requests. We stayed in the room with the private pool, which is sheared with the room next door. It was very nice and relaxing. The location is magnificent, if you rent a car, it takes 40 minutes from the airport or Rhodes the city. Lindos is amazing, 10 minutes drive from the hotel. In a 3 minutes walk there’s a beautiful beach, a lot of restaurants, great food and drinks 🍹 Breakfast was good and had a lot of options. We have had an amazing vacation and whoping to visit again next summer 🙏🏻

Everything was perfect! The view from our room was amazing, the beaches nearby (Agathi) were just wow, with crystal clear waters and golden sand. We were upgraded to a luxury room by the nice lady at the reception and that made everything such a perfect relaxing holiday. Stuff was super friendly, especially Daniel who was always helpful of everything and Daiana made sure our kids were kept entertained during our stay. I would highly recommend this place! The hotel was beautiful! Very clean, with extremely friendly and helpful staff who were always available. We had breakfast included and it was very tasty, with different things on offer on each day and plenty of variety. Our room was lovely, our view was stunning and the pool on the balcony was much bigger than expected which was a real plus as we are both quite tall. The surrounding area was perfect for us; plenty of restaurants, bars and small shops but not too busy! The nearby Eva's Supermarket was perfect for any water or snacks we needed, plus the hotel bar was reasonably priced for drinks too. The swim up bar was great; so fun and a lovely little treat during the hot days. We had an amazing stay and would definitely come back!

    1. Pool not private which was the only reason we booked and paid so much. When we complained they told us we could pay over €1000 more to have a room with a private pool in the newer building. 2. Many of the staff in the main building were inexperienced and disinterested, it seems like all of the good staff were put at the new building and there was a lack of management at the main building. We frequently saw the young staff on their phones behind the counter 3. No one was working at either of the two swim up pool bars during our stay 4. The cleaning cart was left right outside our room everyday when not in use. 5. The mini bar in our room not stocked - when we asked about it we were told it was not possible to stock it in “low season” - we stayed here in June. 6. The hotel doesn’t match the pictures at all. They have taken very clever, misleading pictures to make everything appear larger and more put together. 7. One evening when it had rained slightly during the day, we tried to go to the ‘luxury building’/ beach bar but the whole path there was overflowing with water so we had to wade through it 8. Many things were not finished at the new luxury building, it looks a bit like a building site. When we arrived the sun umbrella outside our room was broken, but this was fixed after several days. 9. We emailed them during our stay when the staff at reception were not helpful, and we never received an email back 10. There was often an unpleasant smell of sewage coming from our bathroom. When we came back to the room in the evenings the smell had filled the whole room

The nearest beach was nice with lovely restaurants and bars

Maybe needs time, but shame we experienced it when they didn't have any - Haraki beach is lovely

Towels would have been nice outside of the first set we were given - had I known it would have been so difficult, I would have guarded them with my life (again, difficult with daily swimming/bathing) - we didn't have our room cleaned for a couple days (we had to ask multiple times) and when it was, it wasn't much. The wifi is *not* good. At all. We didn't have it for two days at all and when it sporadically kicked in, it barely got us through. Roam. We gave up with the TV and its streaming services because even the TV couldn't hack it. We did enjoy some Greek reality shows. They worked. Lack of understanding amongst staff, bless them. This was observed as well as experienced. I witnessed a staff member tell a couple that the hotel did not have a spa or massage facilities when prompted. I thought this weird because it's literally in the name but wrote it off as maybe it's in the to-be-completed Beach Front hotel. Two days later, a lady asked and another team member said they did have a spa and detailed what was on offer as well as packages etc. The staff are friendly enough, some more than others, but unfortunately friendliness doesn't get you far with actions, or the lack thereof. I suspect there has been a recent onboarding, and that's fair, but the minimal (if any) staffing in the respected areas or the poor ones that were left alone not knowing exactly what needed to be done, ought to have had more people who knew what to do in place. There were often people (us incl.) left waiting at the desk for a long while. Some didn't speak any of the languages I knew (and that was including Greek) which again, is fine but makes for difficult misunderstandings and longer processing in a world where, unfortunately, minimal English would be required for a boutique hotel catering to foreign guests.

I booked this as a special "luxury" treat for my partner and I. Other than how it looked aesthetically, I'd say that's where the similarities between the word and the hotel end. Both pools are lovely but it would be nice if one was "adults only" or from a certain time etc. Saying that though, it really has a welcoming face (again, unfortunate that it's road facing) but the hammocks and style of building is beautiful from the outside. The bartender (I didn't catch their name, I'm sorry) was lovely as well as the very helpful reception desk on our first arrival. There was one manager (?) in particular that really set actions straight and got things sorted out (on our last day) with towels and cleaning etc. If you are a meat eater or a "meal" eater for breakfast, they provided quite an array of dishes, some surprising (like creamy chicken and mushroom stew?) - though the bread and butter weren't always out and had to be asked for. Floaties and pool accessories were provided for the kids and the restaurant had daily "cuisines" - we didn't try them as we were constantly out exploring during dinner service. The surrounding area is truly lovely, very natural (albeit really in the middle of nowhere-vibes) but Haraki beach is downright gorgeous. There are such lovely restaurants along the bay and each one was delicious and accommodating. Really friendly cats in the area! Really good car rental places around with late-night convenience-esque stores. They're all really helpful too! Would recommend going to the ruins of the fortress, it's a quick hike with the most stunning of views. You can see Lindos too! Which obviously, is a big recommendation too. Has a table tennis table, but like the "gym" surrounding it, was in need of much TLC so hopefully that can be upgraded in future. Apparently 2021 seemed like a great year for the hotel, so hopefully they can get back to that standard.

Where to begin. We arrived late, 10.30pm. The receptionist was unprofessional, tried to charge me the full price of the room when I had already paid 50%, nothing computerised, just written on a blank piece of paper with random names/numbers. I had to pull up bank statements to prove id paid. Asked if we could eat at the buffet before it closed, but there were Ants and fly's all over the food. We stayed in the new building, ocean front "luxury" suites. In truth, the hotel is not finished, rooms still being built and just many teething issues. The room looked nothing like the pictures. We had to ask for fresh towels and clean coffee cups every day. Just the basics if you want to consider yourself a luxury resort. The cleaning cart was basically stationed outside our room the entire stay which looked awful. Our room was next door to the kitchen on the ground floor, so between 10pm/12pm the clanging of washing dishes was awful, and starts again at 7.30am. If you're on the ground floor, water from the above pools just pours in to yours if anyone is using them, awful design flaw. There is no reception at the new building, there was a desk but no one ever around. So just needed to grab someone when you could and in truth you felt like an inconvenience whenever you asked for help from the so called "People in charge". Wifi does not work in the room, despite what they have said on previous responses, it only works on the ground floor balcony areas/round the pool. TV is not connected to the internet, asked them to fix it the guy just never came back to us. No welcome pack with any information either. They have said to people before on here "you haven't tried our restaurant by the beach" most likely because the prices are ridiculous (average 50 EUR per meal). Its not like they are at all apologetic for any of this, some of their responses to other reviews are simply rude and lies. No doubt this one will be the same.

The only thing acceptable here were the beds which were quite comfortable and some of the younger staff were polite and friendly. The bay which is two minute walk away is really nice (although nothing to do with the hotel), with loads of nice restaurants and cafes. We ate there for all our meals as the hotel food was simply awful.
