I got stuck in the toilet (faulty lock) behind the reception area and the reception is not manned through the day so I was there for a while. Hopefully, that can be fixed easily. :)

A lovely small property with different room types. We chose a beachview room and it was very modern with a balcony overlooking the pool and then the beach beyond that. The bed was incredible and the room was very well appointed and spacious. Our friends had a different room which was less modern, but equally nice and spacious.

Unfortunately, there was an alarm that went off in the office, and I could hear it in my room. But this was an anomaly, and the staff tried to fix it.

ON the water, which is amazing. And I love the restaurant - the octopus appetizer on the dinner menu was so good, I went back for it. The staff is so very nice and accommodating. Love that there is parking. Gorgeous pool area.

No negative subjects - all has been perfect.

This is a family managed Hotel. The people are extremely friendly and the service is perfect. Fantastic breakfast, lunch and also nice dinner under old trees with different choices right on the Beach. The quality of the food was also wonderful. The room has been newly designed last year and is very well equipped incl. refrigerator, good coffee machine and air conditioning. The hotel has also a swimming pool. We can recommend this hotel to everybody who wants to enjoy a great holiday in Crete.

I would have given 10/10, but I found it a bit peculiar that the capsules and soap in the room were not refilled, despite being cleaned daily. I would expect this from such a hotel. An ironing board (at least in the reception) would be useful as well.

Perhaps the best hotel I've been in for business. Less then 50 meters from the beach. Fantastic breakfast, served directly in front of the beach. The room is spacious, but not too much as to bother, and had everything I needed. Nespresso machine, safe, dishes and a small stove. Very clean.

Lovely, family run hotel. Great location near restaurants, banks, supermarkets, bars but on the beach so peaceful and slightly away from the hustle and bustle. Great staff - friendly and always helpful and fun. Beach was beautiful. When we were there they were waiting for turtles to hatch. Very little litter and the waves were fun and not to big for kids. Rooms were lovely, bed comfy and a nice seating area out the back which adjoined the kids room. We had rooms 4 & 5, with our 3 teenagers in one and us in the other. Food was great, in fact we tried others but kept coming back to eating at Alkonides. Highly recommend - lovely at night with onshore breeze, seating under the trees looking out at the sunset. Magical, a real treat. Near Chania, turn right at the top of the road and bus stop is 50metres on opposite side of the road 9.5euros for 5 of us. Takes 30-40mins. Chania was lovely with lots of independent shops and beautiful port.

Small family run hotel with nice atmosphere and good service. Our room (19) was renovated and had nice view to the pool. The location by the beach was excellent. We can gladly recommend this hotel.

The pool was not very clean. The room was clean, but there was sand behind the door in the bathroom and was not that clean under the beds.

The staff was great and the room was nicely decorated with good enough space. It was a pleasant stay.

we weren't there for the more commercial busy side of Platanias but you turn off the strip and down a little lane and its quiet and mellow.

Lovely rooms with terraces very close to the sandy beach which is good for swimming and gorgeous for sunset. The nicest family run medium size hotel in this busy but fairly chilled location. They staff were really great, friendly, helpful and very welcoming. We made our own breakfasts (our choice, the shops are close by) but ate dinner several times which was really good. The lounging area where you could order great espresso, beer, cocktail etc was very nice. Lovely to hang out right by the beach but be in the shade of the beautiful trees on comfy seats. there was parking for our hire car and you are convenient for lots of good gorge hikes and also Chania, Rethymno and the south cost is within reach.

Had to pay to use sun beds on beach. Would of liked to have use of free beds if staying in property…or when buying food.

Had a fabulous stay at these apartments. We had a Superior Studio (Room 4), the decor was so lovely, with great attention to details. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need for a stay. Big comfortable bed with crisp white linen. Spacious, roomy and bright. Lovely big spa bath, I would have liked a stand up shower ( there was a shower head), but this would definitely not stop me returning or recommending. The family who own/run this hotel were really friendly and helpful. The restaurant is right on the beach, serving delicious food. In a great location, near to many bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Lovely pool area and bar. Clean throughout.

We stayed in Alkionides for 7 days and it was abolutely fantastic. The room unfortunately did not have sea view, but it was very clean and modern. Room service is doing cleaning and towel change at daily basis. We enjoyed ourselves having delicious breakfasts in a very cosy hotel restaurant, the owners are very friendly, they offer home-made orange jam, olive oil and domestic fruits, there are various dishes to choose. We highly recommend this place!

the owners could not to do more for us since we arrived at the property! they are so nice and friendly that we did not want to leave:) it’s very cleaned and serviced throughout the stay all service is very discrete giving guests room to enjoy the location is splendid and u can eat on the beach if you like! they serve various things for breakfast every day including home made goodies

We liked everything, third time in this beautiful hotel and will definitely go there again. Breakfast in the beach bar, listening to the ocean, is so relaxing. Breakfast is good, the owners and staff is so friendly. It really feels like home in this hotel! Location is perfect, very clean, beutiful room, I highly recommend!! Lovely hotel, many thanks!
