Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe Villa was beautiful. Amazing location on top of the mountain with great sea and hill views. It was situated in a quiet area away from the crowds, yet close enough driving distance from the main tourist areas. George the owner was very welcomig and knowledgable about the area. Villa itself was so well laid out, very clean and great amenities provided. We were left welcome drinks of local wine, raki and fresh fruit as well as Olive oil from George's own farms. Kitchen had all necessary equipment provided along with basics needed for cooking. So much outdoor space to sit and have meals in. Pool was amazing, great size and clean surrounded by beautiful flower plants.. George the owner was out most days cleaning the area and making sure that everything was perfect. Great size barbeque. We had the best time and would love to go back.

PolandA/C was broken in one bedroom whole week, luckily my daughter likes the heat so it was not a drama but for other people it would be unaceptable. Parking is litlle bit tight because of shrubs on both sides of driveway, it needs to be trimmed back more.
Villa was better than anticipated. The swimming pool is for the exclusive use of guests renting the villa. All villas in the complex have different configurations and swimming pools are also of different sizes and depths. We stayed at two villas because of some mix-up with booking.com and another platform George, the owner, is using. Kitchen was very well equiped. Two bedroom house suited us very well. Bedrooms are specious with ample storage space. House, swimming pool and garden is cleen and very well maintained. First villa has four terraces, each one is big enough to have breakfast or afternoon drinks. Owner gave us bottle of wine, olive oil, water, fruits on arrival. Because there is no shops nearby but only in Rethimno which is 10 min by car, is best to get supplies before you drive up to the villa. Villa represents good value for money.

BelgiumDue to the closure of the mini market you had to drive to Rethymno even for the very basic stuff. Annoying detail: when after using a shower or toilet, a high pitch noise came from the water pipe that sounded through the house and went away after a minute. Going discretely to the toilet was not an option.
Very comfortable, spacious and spot clean villa with all amenities required. The swimming pool was perfect for us. Beautiful view on the valley. Not too far from Rethymno. Quiet neighbourhood. The villa easily accommodates 6 people.

UkraineTwo families with children had a wonderful vacation for two weeks (August - September 2021) in one of the Aloni villas. It is a complex of several villas located in the village Roussospiti above Rethymno. The road from Rethymno is good but winding, so leisurely driving is recommended. The villas have a beautiful view of the sea, Rethymno and the mountains. Despite the small area, all villas are secluded, separated by dense beautiful vegetation, which hides the neighbors from each other. Villas are suitable for staying with children. George and his wife helped with all aspects of our stay. Cleaning of the villas with a change of linen took place once every few days, the pool and yard were cleaned daily (except weekends). On arrival, we were welcomed with a fruit basket, wine and raki (later stocks of wine were periodically updated for what a big special thanks). Because of the topography of the area, the villa is built so that when you enter you come into a large living room with a kitchen, toilet and a beautiful view wide balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for cooking, there is a large refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave etc. On the lower floor there are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and access to a fairly large pool, the pool is 80cm - 180cm deep. All rooms are air conditioned. But the villa itself is built so that there is not much heat and even without air conditioning our stay in the villa was comfortable. The villa has a beautiful garden. Next to the entrance of the villa there’s a large barbecue oven and a table. Near the villa you can easily park 2 cars. For a comfortable stay in the villa, the opportunity to go to the beach and into town, travel over Crete - the car is a must. However, there’s a bus stop 500 m from villa so you can get to Rethymno in 15-20 minutes. Nearby there are 2 tavernas and a small store, but as they are located below the villa, it will be more comfortable to go by car. Food and drinks we bought in Lidl.

NetherlandsIt was difficult to park our 9-seat minibus directly at the villa due to steep descent and narrow path which is only a minor inconvenience if you need to move a lot of luggage items since there was another parking place 20 meters up; villa had a great stone barbeque installation, but missing proper grill rosters
Everything else: village, great view, very quite place, perfect house organization and planning, solid furniture, efficient airco, nice fruit garden, flowers, clean pool, service, in-house cleaning service, instant response of the host, welcome present
