Simple but stylish place, well run by friendly and ever-helpful Aristo. He managed to save us a parking space right outside when we needed it. The street may look a bit shabby but don't be put off - you are a short walk from streets with some excellent restaurants, and the sights of Athens are walkable distances. And the Alter is outstanding value for money by Athens standards.

It was a bit further away than expected but that’s not a fault. Just a longer walk to acropolis. It was a bit noisy at night but it is a city!

Family run, warm hospitality and very welcoming. We were offered water, coffee several times. Arranged a taxi to the airport. Felt well cared for.

The hotel is located in a very good area. A few minutes away from the center. The hotel owner is amazing, he treats you like family, the rooms were clean and the jacuzzi was a big plus! Special thanks to Aristo for waiting for us till 2.30am upon our arrival

The hotel is in a quite street in a super interesting neighborhood of Athens. Rooms are clean, new and comfy - strong wifi all over - but the real perk is Artisto, your Host. Big smile, open heart, shiny eyes, always ready to chat & share with you the enjoyment of being alive. You can't not be happy with your stay there :)

The location was amazing - very central in a relaxed neighborhood - with cozy shops, bars and cafés. The historic center is easy to reach by walking. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. If I travel again to Athens I will definitely stay there again. Our room was clean and spacious.

everything about the property and the stay was perfect. the only thing is I would research the location of the property to make sure it suits your needs.

property was perfect! very clean with a big room and a lovely bathroom. Aristo the owner was exceptional. he was very helpful and was always looking out for us. he made sure there was always fresh bottled water readily available, was very kind and gave us information about the local area including a map. he was really good and we wish that we had more time to speak to him.

The hotel is located on a busy street, and cars/motorbikes can be heard throughout most of the night even with the windows closed. Nothing that some earplugs can’t fix.

The room was very comfortable and clean. I felt very safe in the hotel, and Aristo was a wonderfully hospitable host. I really felt that he paid attention to when I was coming/going to make sure I was okay. As a female traveling alone this aspect is very important to me and it made me feel very comfortable and safe in his hotel. The location is in a very unique neighbourhood of Athens with its own history and character, which made my stay very interesting. A rich social and cultural history can be seen in the street art throughout the neighbourhood. Lots of great bars and restaurants off the beaten path. Easy access to all the tourist sites on foot or via affordable public transit.

- Interior of the rooms is a bit strange/unusual (I didn't mind too much, just look at the pictures) - 25' walk (or 10' cab ride) to center

- Very nice and helpful staff - Spacious rooms - Quiet (if you have a room facing the backyard, otherwise noisy from the street)

My friend and I traveled first time to Greece. Our stay couldn't have been better. The place may not offer you great views from the room itself, but it is very near to major attractions. The staff is extremely welcoming and supportive. I highly recommend.
