Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceLoved our stay here. The room was very nice, clean and confortable. We had a jacuzzi and the staff put a free bottle of Greek wine for us to welcome. The hotel is located in the old city, in front of the ocean port. We had a balcony with a beatiful view. The hotel has as well a big terrace, with a fantastic view that you can use whenever you want. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our stay included breakfast, which had a lot of variety and good Greek breakfast, which was served in the restaurant just under the hotel with a sea view.

United KingdomPerfect location, overlooking the action in the centre of town. Breakfast was on the waterfront, all the staff we met were pleasant, and being out of season the value was excellent. Come and visit, and try and get room 20.

SpainNo isolation from bathroom. It's just a glass sliding door which gives no privacy.
Nice location. Great restaurant. Very well preserved old building. Nice staff. Cleaning ladies were really hard workers.

United StatesLots of stairs. Not that it would have changed our plans, but it could for others.
Bottle of wine upon arrival was an excellent touch after bus ride from Heraklion. Breakfast was wonderful and did not disappoint. Buffet changed a little every day with excellent choices. Breakfast is served down in their harbor front restaurant. Nice to enjoy al fresco dining and watching the harbor "wake up" while sipping coffee. Beautiful roof top terraces to enjoy the view of the old harbor, in the event your room is not one with a view

Beautiful hotel in a a perfect location. We were greeted upon arrival with a complementary bottle wine with crystal wine glasses. The staff were amazing! They gave us advice about what to do in the area and how to spend our time. They assisted us with setting up a car rental and recommending restaurants. The room was very clean and well supplied with lots of soaps and cream, a safe, mini fridge, hangers and extra seating. Beautiful large bath tub in our room. Nice balcony and lots of available seating in the common areas. We had breakfast included and it was amazing! You’re seated at the hotel’s restaurant which overlooks the main port and lighthouse in Chania. Food was delicious. Would definitely recommend and stay here again

United KingdomMy only minor issue was that the hotel was difficult to locate - it is on a pedestrianised street and then down a side street
Hotel is in a superb location, overlooking the Venetian harbour. There is a veranda, which we were able to use to have lunch and drinks. Breakfast is in the adjoining restaurant downstairs and has a fantastic spread of food. We were also able to ask for any additional food - extra crispy bacon for my son - and Cristina made us a special Cretan pie. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful and we cannot wait to come here again to this beautiful island and idyllic town

Fabulous place to stay right in the old port. We were in Room 19 which is spacious with a modern fitout including bath and separate sitting area. The verandah has lovely views and we enjoyed sitting there for drinks - including the lovely complimentary bottle of wine. Everything worked well and the staff were exceptional especially Augustino who helped us when we arrived and with our trip planning and Anita at the desk who was lovely and helpful. Breakfast in the very popular restaurant was great! We also loved swimming at the local beach just around the corner.

United KingdomThe hotel is an old traditional building so there are lots of stairs, and tricky getting up and down with luggage. However, assistance with luggage can be provided by the hotel. No tea or coffee facilities in the room, no bottles of water provided, but there are plenty of places nearby to get refreshments etc.
The hotel is a charming traditional hotel located in the heart of the Old Town overlooking beautiful Chania Harbour. Breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant downstairs, so it was lovely to sit looking out at the harbour. The breakfast buffet has a good selection of continental and hot options, including local cheeses, pastries and some delicious homemade cakes and jams which must be tried! The hotel boasts a fabulous roof garden consisting of three terraces, perfect for watching the gorgeous sunrise over the harbour, or enjoy pre dinner drinks whilst soaking up the ambience of the harbour below and taking in the stunning views of Chania. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and contemporary styled and some rooms have a terrace or balcony. I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Chania.
