Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPerhaps a clearer sign on the building so that you knew that you had found it?!
Fascinating old 19th century building, wonderful views from our balcony and windows over the countryside and the Gulf of Corinth. Very generous tea, coffee, refreshment facilities, Quite a way up into the mountains - but well worth the effort. Excellent meal at the taverna 3 minutes walk away. Excellent breakfast. Very interesting host.

United KingdomBecause the house is quite old, we had a small problem with hot water during our stay, but this was quickly resolved and didn't affect out experience at all.
We loved our stay in this little piece of paradise! The views are second to none, the location is peaceful, breathtaking, and mesmerising. From the moment you wake up and look out the window, your very soul begins relaxing. The hotel itself is vintage in the best possible way, lots of different thoughtful objects are all around and the interiors are tastefully preserved. Dimos is an exceptional host, he made us feel right at home and went out of his way to mail us an item we had forgotten at the property. Great breakfast and everything was sparkling clean!

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike.
In the best possible way, staying at this wonderful guesthouse was like returning to travelling in Greece in the 60s and 70s. In early March Lakka was quiet and peaceful, the views down to the sea were incredible - still snow on the peaks of the Panassas range. Dimos was an excellent host, the breakfasts were great, the dinner he cooked one night was delicious. We ate two more meals in homely local restaurants in Lakka (preorder in March) and by the sea in Platanas. Thanks to Dimos for a lovely weekend.

CanadaThe wifi wasn’t the best but wasn’t important to us
The view was spectacular! Beds were comfy and host was very helpful. Breakfasts were very good with continental type as well as eggs etc if you wanted. In the evening he opened it up as a little tavern and played a great assortment of jazz music. This location is remote and so peaceful. A small local restaurant a 3 minute walk away with fantastic food and very hospitable Greek service.

United KingdomThe bathroom was a bit on the small side but that's how it is in old houses. The shower worked well and had good pressure.
The view from our suite was absolutely stunning. A wide vista over the valley down to the Gulf of Corinth. We were given an excellent breakfast every morning and had delicious sea bass one night on the terrace. Our bed was very comfortable and our bedroom and sitting room were large and well equipped. Our host was very helpful with planning our activities.

FinlandOnce you are up the mountain there is very little to do, even walking around can be tricky because some cars speed a bit on the roads you walk on and dogs bark if you walk around
Location, not crowded, beautiful views, air conditioning, good shower temp/pressure, great tavern in the village for dinner, very nice breakfast

United KingdomThe property was very dusty. We appreciate that such an old building is difficult to keep dust free.

GreeceThe bathroom could have a bit more space perhaps to organise/store toiletry items, and the kitchen could be somewhat better equipped.
The location in a small village with many traditional stone houses and the amazing view alone are a good reason to return to this place! Very peaceful and quiet location but only 15-20 minutes from beaches. The hosts were very friendly, kind and accomodating, also to my dog. Nice breakfast and possibility to have dinner if requested one day in advance.

SerbiaIt was so beautiful there, words can't explain the feeling. The house was built at the end of the 19th century, it's very well kept and renovated, so it's very unique. The view on the Corinthian bay is out of this world. The host will make you breakfast every morning and play some of his wonderful jazz tapes that really complete the whole feeling. Our dog also had a lovely friend so we were all happy.

GermanyThe position was exactly what we were looking for: on the hills, isolated, quiet and with a great view. The B&B is run by a couple who moved to Lakka after Covid, they are both nice and welcoming. The breakfast is excellent and made even more pleasant by the music played form the hundreds of tapes - yes, tapes! - the husband recorded throughout the years.
