Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyBeware, most of the cats in the area outside are not too keen on being petted. Also, two bathrooms can make you wait a little when there are a lot of guests. You have to ask for a key if you wish to stay out late. Nothing particularly displeasing to note from this place however.
So many good things to say about this place ! The staff was formidable, friendly and chatty and overall super helpful. The optional breakfast tastes great and feels nice. The hostel is very comfy and has amazing aesthetics and feels warm and cozy. The whole place feels like a home abroad. The view from the balcony is nice. The cleanliness of the hostel was also impeccable. The AC and the wifi worked great. The hostel has games to play and is great to socialize, but also great if you just want to have a quiet time.

GermanyThe only downside is that is a bit of a climb. So if you have a lot of luggage it might not be the best idea..
Everything is great about this hostel. It is up on the hill so there is an amazing view. The rooms are beautiful, the kitchen is fully equipped and the common area is really pretty and cozy. There is even a balcony from which one can watch the sunset. Also it is very clean, the staff is super nice and helpful and it is right next to the old Upper Town wall. Strongly recommend!!

FranceThe locker was a bit small as I had a hiking bag, but it's okay, you can still put every sensitive things in it.
The hostel layout is basically that of a house, so you feel like you're just sharing a house with other people, which I found pretty cool. There's everything you need in the kitchen if you want to cook something, the rooms and the common area have an AC unit and there's a bar outside for everyone, although I didn't buy any drink myself.

HungaryCon’s (few): - The Hostel is not really cheap and one should pay extra charges for any little extra (parking lot for a bigger car, payment with a card, etc.) - It is very tiresome to cimb up the hill if one takes courage to walk down to the inner city to find better restaurants or some nightlife (Thessaloniki has few nightlife in my personal experiences), especially in the night. If one would go out, I recommend to return by taking a taxi - The hostel has few little bathroom/toilet which I found to be reserved almost all the time
Pro’s: - The hostel is at a superb location for those who are looking for a place with amazing view tot he entire city, at a hill’s peak. I really enjoyed the view is available right from the stairs to their main entrance, where little, delicate chating/drinking places established so that tired ones who climbed the slopes to the hostel - A little room with just enough arrangements and a comfortable pair of hanging beds over each other - Effective, strong A/C - Hostel staff is nice and very proper and accurate to abbundantly introduce the surrounding places (lots of places to visit upthere) and helpful if any information needed - Comparing to its location, the Hostel is pretty quiet, anyone may find good rest and relaxant sleep there - The hostel is a bit out of the downtown of Thessalonki, but still, at least on the way down it can be approached in ~15-20 mins comfortably on foot - A quality, big refrigerator shared in a very nice kitchen I found to be spacious enough to store my stuff cold - A very nice and spacius, main living room with a magnificient balcony available to anyone

GermanyThe location up on the hill is far from the Center - which wouldn’t be a problem , but the walk up in the hot summer of Greece is definitely not for everyone!

SwedenThe location is very far up in the hills of Thessaloniki so make sure to have some sort of transportation. Google Maps will say it's close to the centre but it won't tell you about the gigantic hills you have to climb to get to the hostel. Otherwise nothing to complain about.
I liked the staff who were really lovely and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. I absolutely LOVED the terrace outside the front entrance and the mini café that they've made there + the coffee was delicious. There were many cute cats roaming around too. The view over the city from the hostel was beautiful.
