The location is perfect for exploring the area. The views from the room and restaurant are beautiful. The team at Glykeria are incredible hosts. It's a welcoming experience and they offer as much as possible for you to enjoy the area.

Maria and Nikos were exceptional hosts that made all the difference to our stay. Maria gave us guidance and advice on where to visit and when, and always made sure we had everything we needed for our trips. Nikos and the team always made us feel welcome in the restaurant and provided excellent service. The property itself is beautiful and well-kept, with a beautiful view on the sea from all the rooms. The restaurant serves elevated traditional Crete foods that were all delicious.

What I didn't like? That we didn't have more time to stay there! Our stay was so fantastic that we wished we could have extended it. It's a testament to how much we enjoyed our time at this wonderful place.

Go there, just stop searching for alternatives and book your stay. From the first moment we met Maria and Nikos - the owner of Glykeria - we felt very welcomed. They gave us the best recommendations for beaches and activities and a beautiful handmade beach bag with nice towels. The rooms are spacious, very clean, modern and have the best view. There is a beautiful pool perfect for kids as well. The restaurant of Glykeria serves food the whole day. They offer a big variety of very tasty and freshly prepared dishes. We can recommend this place 100%. What makes the huge difference is that Maria and Nikos put so much love in their place - every single day.

It was all good!!

Everything was perfect, Maria was so helpful, we told her we'd go to Elafonisi Beach and she brought us a beach shopper with nice cotton Ibiza towels and a beach umbrella ☂️ to use there, lots of tips for the area around the hotel. Helpful with luggage, clean room, nice small balcony and lots of facilities to use incl. the pool and beds and sandbags to sunbath.. loved the hotel! Very comfortable beds!!

The owners of this hotel were incredibly kind and helpful during our stay. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and they gave us some amazing beach recommendations that we never would have found online. The room was clean and comfortable with an amazing view, and the location was great. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a friendly stay close to Elafonissi Beach.

From our check in with Maria at Glykeria to the check out (unfortunately the next day), we rate this hotel as the best stay of our entire 2 week trip to Greece and Crete. This newly built, modern hotel had everything: well appointed rooms, view to die for, comfortable beds, super clean shower and bath area, beautiful pool and an amazing restaurant. Because we were guests, we were given the best tables with the view, too. Glykeria is about 10 Km from famous Elafonisi Beach, that attracts hundreds each day arriving by car and buses from the other side of the mountains. Staying here, you have the option of experiencing the 'Pink Beach' in the less crowded times as well as a few other much less crowded beaches. Maria, upon our intro, was so thorough, she had a list of these other beaches (less than 20 minutes drive) and a local monastery to visit. She made sure that our phone mapping worked and that WhatsApp was also available if we had any questions while touring. She was over the top in her helpfulness and I wanted to give a proper shout out to her for her hospitality.

Great host- Maria checked us in with welcome drinks and provided valuable information about the area and provided beach towels and sun umbrella for us to use. Upon leaving, she even provided us drinks for the toad! She is the sweetest hostess anyone can ask for! Will surely return one day!

The pool is pretty but has no lights.

The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. With a warm attitude, they made me and my partner feel comfortable. The first day we arrived they gave us tips on hidden beaches to visit and on free parking in area. They also provided us with beach towels and offered plenty of drinks on the house. The hotel is aesthetically pleasing and has a beautiful view. You can sit on the balcony and watch the sun melt under the dark blue sea. The restaurant is right across the street, and the food is tasty and interesting. I had the best brunch - fried eggs and sausage! The wine is also very good, I recommend ordering the Santorini 😉 Thank you, Maria and Nikos, for an amazing stay at Glykeria! 💕

Outstanding food and service in this family run hotel outside Elafonisi. Stunning sea and mountain views from the very comfortable and spotless rooms. We arrived late at night and were greeted in the car park with large cold bottles of water followed by a beautiful supper. Nothing was any trouble for the staff, and the owner, Nikos, dropped us to the beach after a lovely breakfast the next morning. We were sorry not to have been staying longer, but we started our walking trip that day.

Everything was perfect. The hotel, the restaurant are excellent. Maria and Nykos are great as hotel manager. They will give you good advices to discover lovely locations only known by the locals. If you want to go to Elafonisi, don't hesitate to book this hotel. The view from the room or the pool or the restaurant are just awesome. They enjoy to respond to your inquiries. The hotel was in a great location with all of the rooms benefiting from an amazing sea view. We cannot thank Maria and Nikos enough for making us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Maria is an exceptional and very genuine host and instantly made us feel at home. When we arrived Maria invited us over to their wonderful restaurant with stunning sea views and offered us a cold drink and then talked us through all the hints and tips for a perfect stay. She gave us lots of valuable information of places to visit, such as hidden beaches that we would never have found ourselves. She also told us about one of the most amazing restaurants in the mountains that served the most wonderful food that was terrific value for money. The Glykeria restaurant never failed to disappoint. The wonderful view of the sun setting over the ocean each evening made this place feel special. The dishes were full of flavour and were well executed. We eat out frequently and the ingredients and flavours of the food were of a very high standard. We especially enjoyed their interesting spin on a traditional Greek salad. This one was served warm with the greek equivalent of grilled halloumi. It was amazing! They also offered a great choice of fresh fish each night and we enjoyed choosing various fish. We chose sea bass one evening and red snapper on another, both cooked excellently and served with grilled vegetables and potatoes. Our favourite breakfast was the Greek yoghurt with biscuit crumb, fruit and honey. It was the best I’ve ever had! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay at this wonderful place, whether for a longer stay or for even a few days whilst touring the island. This part of the island is a ‘must sea’ and I couldn’t think of a nicer place to stay for our visit to the south west coast of Crete. A very big thank you from Donata and Terry. We will be back! :)
