The phone in our room rang two nights in a row waking us up at 2am.

The owners were nice, our room was upgraded. The location was great, a calm oasis in a hectic Melia. The swimming pool was really pleasant.

Property is very nice and well looked after, so just a couple of suggestions - the kitchenette area in the room could maybe benefit with a refresh (although we mainly ate out ourselves) The aircon in the main bedroom was effective but a second unit in the main area would be welcome as that area was a bit harder to keep cool during the hot weather. Lovely family run property in a great location close to centre of Malia and beaches - yet feels quiet and secluded as it’s set back quite a bit from the road. Apartment we had (317) was clean and spacious with a large balcony with a nice view (tip: ask for top floor in the west side, nice open countryside/mountains view and very quiet) Very nice pool area, lovely well-kept gardens and tasty breakfast. Super helpful staff - allowed us an evening checkout for a small very reasonable extra fee (as our return flight wasn’t until midnight!) Many thanks Akis and family!

the room was OLD and needs some update. the bathroom definitely needs some renovation - unpleasant to be there, things were broken, not okay to cover hole in the wall with sticker, also curtains were so old that there were holes in it etc. in my opinion this shouldnt be the case when you pay more than 100€ per night.

The air conditioning stops working every time you take the key out, so we came home to a boiling apartment every day. It took some time to cool both rooms, as the air conditioning is in the bedroom. Also, breakfast closed much too early.

Breakfast was good. The hotel is an oasis of calm in a very busy neighborhood. The hotel is bordered on one side by vegetable gardens-very enjoyable.We liked the fact that no music was played at the pool or on the property grounds. The hotel was calm and quiet.

There were some spots in our room that were little bit dirty and one of the lamps didn‘t work. It‘s not a major big deal because everything else was excellent.

The room was big, quite clean, clean pool and very nice staff. The staff were amazing and helped you in everything they could. Especially Akis. You could contact him 24h via What’s App and he was very welcoming and helpful. The Hotel is very near to it‘s party location Malia and also very near to the next village Stalis. If you rent a Quad you can explore many different places ! It‘s really located in a nice way. The breakfast is also cute. Even if it‘s a rather small apartment complex, there was for everyone something to eat. The pancakes were the best but rather hard to get because everyone wanted them.

The shower is a bit small and it's easy to spill water outside and make a mess. Not really a problem if we pay some extra care however might be something to have in mind on a future renovation.

The amability of all the staff, starting from the owners throughout all collaborators. Breakfast was nice, with all the goodies that we can expect. The pool is great and provides an extra place to relax. The gardens are very well cared. I enjoyed to see all different kinds of plants and grass so well treated. There are several cats sharing some common areas with us. They are the ones really enjoying this place blessed by sun and happiness. I wish I was one of them. But the best was that everyone was so kind and smiley. Always ready to help in anything we would ask. Any less positive experience turns positive as they really want you to Crete and Malia, and Golden Bay Hotel Apartments. A family business where are visible the good family values.

Staff is super friendly and always there for Help! Outdoor area of the property (pool) is very nice, great if you come by car since a big parking lot is available. Very cute cats on the property included 🐱 Super friendly atmosphere - felt like a family owned retreat! Room was mainly clean

Basic Hotel with really unfriendly owner. He told us to leave the pool half an hour before closing time (8pm) and said exactly "get out it's over". At breakfast he said to his staff in greek "pack the food away i don't care, breakfast is till 10" about the people coming late and the families who were still getting servings of food. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. The sheet had some oil stains in one corner and were changed after two nights. (We did not ask for new ones).The kitchen had basic equipment, but there wasn’t anything to put dishes on to dry or a towel to dry them with. The toilet was leaking from the water tank, the shower is open so even when careful the floor will be wet. Also it would be nice to have hand soap from the hotel which there was not and we think is a basic thing every hotel has. The ac didn’t really work well. It only did cold air but not temp specific so we were either too warm or too cold. The timer or sleep functions also didn’t work so it was a bit loud always. The floors got barely cleaned after 3 days, but still dirty. Wifi was horrible on phones and barely worked on laptop a few times, we mostly used data most of the day.

The location was nice and quiet. Walking distance to beach, supermarket, pharmacy, clubs, bars, restaurants. The fridge dispite looking old worked well. The guy who welcomed us and showed us the room was very nice and friendly.

the room was very outdated and really looked nothing like the photos. the living room area bed was horrible compared to the beds in the main room, no air con in the living room area either meaning whoever is sleeping in there is very warm during the night. bathroom was horrible, had to hold the shower as you were showering, in desperate need of upgrade, felt like a chore going for a shower. no soap in the bathroom which is outrageous and also no washing up liquid to wash your dishes which in an apartment isn’t very nice (and they weren’t cleaned for you so you were reusing dishes just cleaned with warm water). room was fine but expected a little more based off the photos and the price. wifi was terrible had to use my phone data for the full 10 days I was there. pool bar area closes very early, would be nice to have a drink in the outdoor area in the evening. very little storage space for a room that could potentially have 4 people in it. safe was very small couldn’t fit my laptop or iPad in it which defeats the purpose. feels like the hotel needs an upgrade and amenities in the rooms would make people feel a little more at home.

location was nice, next to the beach and also close to the strip. travelled through to the old town most nights for dinner which is a short 15/20 min walk. pool was lovely and our favourite part of the hotel, always free loungers and not too busy. staff were nice and always available! also offered us a late check out until our flight at 7pm which was rare and very nice as it’s too hot to be sitting about outside.

For me personally: The bar and the pool were closed very early. Evening session with a drink by the pool is unfortunately not possible. But only 50 meters away from the hotel, it’s going down to business and that until the early hours of the morning.

Grade A for breakfast, location, staff and cleanliness! A family business that puts a lot of effort and love into it, and at a good price compared to the other hotels. Brought to the property immediately upon arrival with no problems or similar. Departure just as quick and uncomplicated. For this price I would definitely consider this hotel on my next trip to Malia. Thanks for that! Greetings from the 210
