Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineI didn't like that the pillows and mattress are too firm. Otherwise the hotel is a good value for money..
I really enjoyed my stay in this nice hotel. Neighborhood is okay, but the location is great - right next to the metro station (direct line to Acropolis) and some 20 min walk to Monastiraki square. The highlight is the staff, very helpful and always extremely polite, 10/10.

GermanyA little noisy in the corridors (could hear this through out door) but walls between rooms were fine. Slightly musty smell in the bathroom even though this was very clean.
Excellent location, central, close to everything, plenty of bars and cafes around down the side streets. Decor is a little old fashioned but spotlessly clean. Plenty of space. Solid air-con. Room on the 6th floor with a charming little balcony. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

CanadaRooms very a bit small and not entirely clean. Location also isn't in a great part of Athens, so we had to uber/taxi to the city which was fine but would've been nice to walk.
Breakfast was great! Staff were super helpful and very kind and really added to our experience.

BelgiumCan't remember, so probably nothing important.
Smallish but well-appointed, comfortable rooms. Good breakfast. Very nice lobby, rustic but with charming paraphernalia. Outside - but covered - terrace, nice to have a last drink before going to bed.

EstoniaThe part of the city where the hotel situates is horrible, abandoned buildings, dirty streets, migrant neighbourhoods. You'd better quickly dash to a subway station (luckily just 2 min walking from the hotel) and go to the more friendly part of Athens. The parking lot is quite small and cramped (in my opinion not more than for 7-8 cars), so better to reserve a place in advance.
The hotel itself very nice and beautiful, breakfast is perfect.

NetherlandsThe double bed was too firm for us adults, so we switched with the kids to the room with 2 single beds with softer mattresses. The breakfast was good, but it's a small breakfast area that can be a bit crowded.
The Hotel has very nice personnel and is right next to a subway station. It also offers parking. The breakfast was good. The family room offered what we needed, the shower was good.

ItalyI had to extend my stay by one night cos I was not feeling well. When I paid the extra night, they charged me 3 euros for paying with a credit card!!! They also issued a separate invoice for these 3 euros. Never ever had such an experience!

LatviaThe location is near the metro, but some side streets weren't too inviting. There was a good cafe nearby though.
We had a family room which was comfortable with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The breakfast in the morning was very good with a lot of options. The lobby's collection of music players was fun to see. Many thanks to the friendly staff at the front desk that let us leave our luggage for the afternoon and helped us find our lost items.

QatarSmall rooms. Very small elevators as it is an old property. Very small shower. 1st floor was noisy due to traffic as it is located on the Main Street. Upper floors are ok. Limited breakfast menu
Exceptionally clean and well maintained hotel. Very professional and helpful staff. Very flexible and kind people. Their staff make up for all the infrastructure shortcomings of this hotel.

A 1960s Gem -cheerful and a wonderful part of Athens. The area reminds me of the Marais district in Paris. The area is a moderate walk to the tourist sites. There are a number of local local cafes, shops and bakeries around the corner.. The backstreets are intriguing. The hotel appears to be built in the early 1960s. The décor reflects that time but is extremely clean and exceptional condition. The bathrooms have been updated. The breakfast was good and equivalent to the best international hotels. The staff were attentive and helpful and very proud of their hotel.
