Very nice house, perfect for the company of friends to spend some party time.

We dislaked mainly the appearance of the room. The furniture and the heating appliances are outdated. The shower cabin is not fully functional.

We liked the coziness of the taverna and the big fireplace. The dinner was tasty and made with local products - buffalo cheese and meat. The attitude to the guests was warm, we were given detailed information and a lot a leaflets about the lake.

After a late arrival we were able to have a very good meal.

We came here to sleep after a long day of travel and the host checked us in at 4am which was very nice of him, but then he started cutting the grass early morning (way before check-out) right outside our window with a loud electric grass cutter. When one of us asked him to stop he didn't have much consideration. So if you are looking for some place for a lie in and a late sleep, this is not be it.

As a single female travel I felt very safe and the staff were very attentive. They helped me set up a bird watching tour and suggested where to eat etc.

What I didn't like: - the rooms were not cleaned. Apart from the bed, everything was very old and unkempt - there was an extremely bad smell in the rooms - there was mold on the walls in the bathroom - the bed is extremely hard and very uncomfortable - the prices are a bit high for that area - we didn't like the food. - the rooms were full of cockroaches and had no mosquito nets - because of the nets, the child was bitten by mosquitoes many times - because of the mosquitoes, no one could rest

The host Stavros was very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay at Morfi Hotel. The breakfast was generous and delicious.

He offered to give us firewood.

The rooms are dark, each of the ceiling corner there was a spider with big webs, the lightning wasn't working properly, the water pressure in the shower was very weak and we needed to wait like 7-8mins to heat up for using it. The ac was very loud and leaking in front of the front door. The walls needed a good painting because the edges of the walls was knocked down, greasy patches around the light switch and in the kitchen, most of the sockets was hanging out of the wall. Everything was dusty and we have dust mite allergy so it was horrible to sleep. Also the curtain was so dusty. I'd suggest the owner to renovate his property, otherwise he won't have good reviews. We asked if he can get us bicycles to rent, he brought one but the other never came, although he was saying it's better rent from somewhere else. We also asked for our clothes to be washed but he said he will get back to us.. well he didn't. Also they have a taverna where they serve breakfast as well, and on Booking.com the peice for breakfast is €4, he charged us €5. Until he isn't investing into his property, do not expect to have good reviews.

Great place to stay, really friendly staff, beautiful lake next to the hotel. Good place to ride bicycle around the lake. The place is convenient to get a stop & rest after crossing the border from Bulgaria in Promachonas. The lake is great for birdwatching and it's a good idea to spend a day to ride the bicycle around the lake.

I think we were among the first guests after opening for the season so not everything was working well- we only had hot water on one of the five days we stayed. It also sounded like we had reserved a two bedroom place but in fact the second bedroom was the sofa in the living area of the studio which wasn’t ideal for our set up.

Good location with easy access to Lake Kerkini, the launching point for boat tours and close to the mountains. The owner is friendly and runs a decent restaurant.
