Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceThe hotel is very vast and it is hard to get around except with a motorised buggy, and the facilities/decor are a bit old/tired. However, we were informed that a renovation should be occurring soon with the new management. While we didn’t have a bad experience, it seems the all-inclusive guests of the hotel receive a different offering from the half-board or B&B guests, which seem more crowded and of lower quality, so bear this in mind when making the choice. The hotel is very self contained however, even with a supermarket where you can find anything you need.
Great location close to Heraklio with nice beaches and attentive staff. Excellent food prepared to high standards with fresh local ingredients. The staff at the Safran and Seasalt&Rosemary restaurants know the meaning of greek “Filoxenia” and made our stay more enjoyable and memorable. The staff really go above and beyond. Also, depending on which room (suite) you book, you will have a private cabana reserved in a VIP section of the hotel’s beach which is a nice bonus.

HungaryThe corridors are terribly dirty in this lifestyle hotel, there was even broken glass that has cut our child's foot! The chairs and tables are often sticky, the waiters working on the terrace at the Red Pepper restaurant are rude. There were 3 toilets in the room but they were very difficult to flush, often impossible. The central air conditioning is loud, I had a hard time sleeping at night, and it was impossible to turn it off. We reported problems with the room, they were supposed to come out to fix it, but nothing changed. The all inclusive only included certain drinks (medium quality), the H2O pool bar for example only had tap water as part of the all inclusive. When we left, there was an item on the bill that we had not consumed, we pointed out that it was not our signature, but the reception lady made us pay for it. What was the reason for the signature then? It is outrageous that I had to pay for the drinks of another guest!!!! All in all, it would have been nice to have some compensation for the inconvenience, but this was rigidly refused.
I loved the huge, lush garden and the pools. The private beach is pebbly but nice and well equipped. The lifestyle two bedroom suite is huge and spacious with two balconies. The a'la carte restaurants (Rosemary, Safran) are very good. The a'la carte dinner at Safran restaurant as part of the all inclusive service was wonderful. The evening activities are varied, I particularly liked the Greek night. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

SwitzerlandThe beach rules (sun bed can’t be reserved, unattended towels will be removed) was not enforced at all. We arrived at the beach at 9am and there were maybe 15 people there, yet every single sun bed was occupied with a towel. Some of them stayed that way for hours with people being prevented from enjoying the beach ourselves included.
The view and location of the à la carte restaurants was exceptional and in general the location and services of the resort were really nice.

United KingdomI felt that buffet dinner was a bit over priced.
It was easy to find and park the car. It was spacious and thus did not feel crowded. You had a several beaches (+a pool) to choose from. The view from the bedroom was lovely and gave this “brochure-holiday-vibe”.

IrelandA lot of the facilities are a little tired and old and could do with updating. The playground appears to be falling apart and is closed down, this wasn't advertised anywhere on the site or booking.com and it was one of the main reasons we chose the hotel so our son could use it. There is a big selection of food in the all inclusive buffet and there are some things which were tasty but in general it really wasn't anywhere near as good as the al a carte. I think this is probably pretty standard for an all inclusive however. The beer in the all inclusive(I paid for one as we had half board) wasn't good although I did manage to drink it, the wine I left on the table untouched after I tasted it. All of the suites that we stayed in when we were given the free upgrade were in various states of disrepair and were badly in need of updating. We much preferred our original bungalow, I would have been really unhappy if we had paid the extra cost for a suite.
We spent most of our stay in one of the bungalows which we really liked. We had a lot of room in there, a separate sitting room and a small fridge. There was a really nice kids club and although our son was too young to stay there with the child minder, she allowed us to come and let him play with the toys and in the ball pit. All of the staff were really nice and helpful to us and they even sent a cake up to my room on my birthday. Every interaction with the staff members was really good and they were always very nice to us and helped us out with any request we had. The salt and rosemary restaurant has fantastic food, although it is quite expensive. There was a storm while we were there and all the local restaurants were closed but the hotel gave us lunch even though it was not included in our room rate (we had half board). They gave us a free upgrade as they were closing the bungalows where we stayed as it was the end of the season. We didn't like the suite that we were given as an upgrade as it was smaller than the bungalow and the staff were very helpful and did find us another room. When the storm came in and that second room flooded so we were moved to another bigger suite in a different building. The private beach is really nice and one of the days we were able to rent a paddleboat from there too. The slides in the pools are good fun although the pools look like they've seen better days. O Nikolas taverna just outside the door of the hotel has great food and is really good value for money and the family that run it were really nice to us.

United KingdomFit for purpose. This is essentially a huge all inclusive resort. Our fault entirely for not researching better but this is definitely not somewhere for independent travellers. Nothing to complain about at all. Clean tidy spacious etc etc but no soul! Luckily we are on B&B and ate out for lunch and dinner. It is clearly excellent for families as it has so many facilities. So our review is thank you for a large clean tidy room with a view. If I was travelling as a family or group etc I would say it’s better but I am not in anyway saying it is bad!! If that makes sense?!
