Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandWe loved the tranquility and the location, but the hotel is located way up the mountain, whereas the restaurants are on the beach - this might be an issue for people who don't have cars and don't feel like having a long walk.. The village "centre" itself was quiet in May.
The views were absolutely stunning and the hotel was clean, modern, and beautiful. The breakfast was one of the best ones we had during our trip around Crete. All in all every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations in every way; we are not the type of people who visit the same hotel twice, but we might consider returning to Pela Mare!

United StatesI had to leave...
Sofia at reception desk was WONDERFUL. She helped with our bags, explained everything to us, and even arranged a early bag breakfast to go for us. On top of all this she was very friendly with a big smile. The room was very comfortable, quiet, and nice view. Thank you for the beautiful stay.

FranceThe breakfast maybe, not enough choices in general.
The view was great. The room was small but there was everything we might need inside and it was quite comfortable. The pool looked also very nice although it wasn't warm enough so we didn't use it. It's a great place over all!

United KingdomYou really must have a car for this hotel. Getting their by bus was difficult. The apartment was very nice apart from a small strangely decorated shower/ wc room. This may have been because we were only booked for one night however.
The staff were really good. The view was stunning. The pool area is wonderful but the cold wind made swimming not on

United KingdomI stayed just for 1 night before meeting a group so didn't have more than an overnight stay and only breakfast before being picked-up at midday. However if I had stayed longer I think I would have wanted the hotel to be closer to other facilities - it seemed a little way away from other things to do or places to go as there wasn't obvious access to beach, shops, or other restaurants. There is only 1, small cosy restaurant area which is lovely for breakfast but I think you'd want some options for dinners if you're doing several days there - so read other reviews to see what people do in those circumstances.
Lovely corner room - Very spacious and super clean and it was even modern and tastefully done than the photos. Loved having a kitchenette with fridge, nespresso machine and kettle for late night cup of tea. The buildings are also low rise and well spread out so it had a really lovely vibe. My room had an amazing view of the sea and property in general - there was a very lovely pool and green garden area for sunbathing. Breakfast was also good and all of the staff were really freindly and helpful. Initially I couldn't find a way to check in after a late flight that landed at 01:30. Everything was dark and shut up and I was suddenly worried... I saw a note on the door with an emergency number so guiltily rang it - I later found out that they'd sent me an email but I had not received it because I had been travelling. However, the person who answered it was really friendly and VERY helpful and they told me to look for the sheet of A4 which had been place on the nearby table, with my name, and very clear instructions showing me how to get to my room, where the key was waiting in the door and everything was ready for me. Once the guy told me this I found it was actually really well organised and I was very quickly at ease and just trotted to my room :D

IsraelMost of all, I didn't like the fact that the week flew by and the rest in this paradise ended. I can't say anything negative about the hotel.
My first experience of traveling to Greece was very pleasant. Thanks to the hotel, staff, restaurant, customer care, I felt like in paradise. Very clean hotel, excellent service and sincere attitude. Amazing breakfasts in the restaurant, like a buffet, but cooked with love. A great start to the day was the meeting with the charming Maria, welcoming the guests of the hotel in the restaurant. And in the evenings, the kind Kostas greeted us in the restaurant. I want to say thank you to everyone in the kitchen. The family room (two small rooms) was clean, freshly renovated, large bathroom, shampoo and shower gel as a gift. The kitchen had a coffee machine and 2 capsules of coffee, tea, sugar for a couple of days, glasses, wine glasses, an ashtray, a wine opener. There were no cutlery and plates, but if necessary, this can be borrowed from the restaurant. The tap water throughout the island is undrinkable as it is highly chlorinated, we had to buy water from a nearby supermarket. I advise you to bring extra coffee capsules with you. The refrigerator also worked well. Cleaning was every day, one day light, another day more thorough, they also changed the towels. Very quiet and peaceful place with stunning views of the sea and mountains. We walked to the sea, it was a great cardio workout. Perfect hotel for a week's holiday.

South AfricaUnfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience at breakfast. The breakfast is not great at all, food is not fresh and the cooked food tastes terrible. We arrived one morning at 10:10am with our 10 month old baby to have breakfast. My wife took a plate to put some food and as she was trying to put food, the lady working there just started taking all the food inside including the milk and juice. She then asked if breakfast was over. And was told yes, it's done. My wife was shocked and said ok, can we at least have some juice and milk for our tea, and can we just put food quickly, ( since we have paid for breakfast included) We literally had 2 minutes to quickly put something as she was in such a rush to clear up all the food. On top of that the juice is not fresh, it's like oros or lecol juive and even worse we weren't the only people there. There was still 2 other tables having breakfast. Who ends breakfast at 10am and then takes away all the food when you have paying guests trying to have breakfast. That's not good.
The view is unbeatable! Giorgio at reception was great, very friendly and helpful all the time. The rooms are a not very modern but very comfortable. Good value for money. A lovely balcony to sit on oustide your room. It's a long windy walk down to the beach so I would recommend driving down to the beach. The area is great and has a charm to it. Agia Pelagia beach is also great for snorkeling if. You like snorkeling. They also have a great diving club on the beach. We really enjoyed our stay here.

PolandI liked everything. The only problem for some people might be the way to the beach. Both beaches are in walking distance (15-20 mins) but if you have problems with walking that might be problematic as there is no regular pavement and the road is steep at some moments. It was not problematic for me (I am quite fit although I don't practise sports regularly) but some people might find it troublesome so either I recommend renting a car or taking a taxi.
This is a lovely, clean hotel, with a great view and very, very friendly staff (both at the reception and in the restaurant). Plenty sunbeds (no need to race with towels in the morning), no loud music in the swimming pool area, no "all inclusive entertainment". It is a perfect place to relax if you like peaceful places with local products and family atmosphere.
