A very pleasent place to stay at. More than a warm welcome for reasonable prices. You will love this place and the people you'll meet there. Never think twice, this is the place to be! PS: Breakfast is the best!

Animal smell from the neighbors.

1 star hotel. Yes, the hotel is worn and needs renovation. But it also has so much charm, and the price reflects very well what you get. Portokali means orange. But there is no orange at the hotel.Why not a fresh glass of orange juice in the morning, i love to pay 2-3 euro for that. No prices and menu in the bar.Very close to the beach. The wifi was in top. It was a very authentic family run place that we would like to return to. Close to the busstation to Hersonissos. Taxi about 10 euro to Hersonissos. Several restaurants nearby. Great food at, Palazzo di mare, best pizza at restaurant Volkano, nice food at La Krina and located in an authentic area ,but the best food and service by Tritonas. We´ll return.

Shower curtain (water passes by and floods the bathroom, a broom would be handy), did not have the wine and fruit (@description). Had some hungry mosquitos in room.

Owners very caring, the pool area, plenty of space in rooms, nice decor outside and in hotel common rooms, nature around, clean, close to good beach, restaurants and airport. We did not expect much, just needed a place to stay before morning flight, but actually a very cosy hotel to spend more time.

Family run hotel with high service attitude and very friendly staff. Breakfast was maybe simple, but still very good with fresh fruit and vegetables, continously refill on bacon and egg, so crunchy and warm. The pool area was very nice and also a cosy pool bar.

Very, very nice family hotel, very well maintained garden, pool. We had a great welcome. The room was clean, bright and airy. Chirping birds and olive trees around. Lovely view to the sea. Two terraces. Breakfast-very good. Beach - 5 min. by foot. Staff-very kind. Location is very good if you have a car to explore the Eastern part of Crete. Not sure how is the public transport to reach it. I liked the bookshelves with holiday books in English and German and may be some other languages that you can borrow while there.

BEAUTIFULL PLACE, INCREDIBLE SWIMMING POOL INTO A GREAT AND BEAUTIFULL GARDEN. WE DID NOT WANT TO GO TO THE BEACH ANYMORE!!! BUT THE MOST INCREDIBLE THING IS THE FAMILY RUNNING THE HOTEL, WHO CANNOT BE MORE NICE AND CARING. THE TWO BROTHER , JANNIS AND MANOS, PART OF THE FAMILY, ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAKE U FELL HOME AND INTO A REAL FAMILY. WE WARMELY RECCOMMEND THIS PLACE , HAS GOT EVERYTHING U ARE SEARCHING FOR.

Very kind, friendly and helpful staff & owners. Close distance(5min walk) to the nice and big beach. Not too crowdy or noisy, good for base to visit places around Heraklion(we have used car - no opinion about buses etc). Swimming pool is an added value, great to chill after long hot day.

Kitchen furniture should be improved, but you have the necessary to cook simple dishes.

Very nice location with a beautiful garden and bar near the swimming pool. When you wake up in the morning you hear the sound of the little birds that come for some water and hide in the trees. The owners and the staff are wonderful people, they are very kind and make you feel like at home.

Everything was perfect.

Wonderful location in the middle of olive groves. In the morning we were woken up by the chirping of birds. The hosts were very kind, asking us daily for feedback on how we feel, if we need anything, treating us like part of the family.

Great hosts. Such a warm and welcoming people i've never met. Portokali apartments are really like a family.

Breakfast was not so good. There is no fresh pastry - everything was durable(from plastic bags). Also it would be nice to have time to time local cheese and other local products. The bed was squeaky, and air conditioning was load(so first days it was hard to sleep properly).

Nice pool(you can use it only to 20:00 clock) and green garden. The staff is really nice!
